We will return to the Lodge for lunch.

Days 8 - 9: Volcanoes National Park

It will be an early start on each Gorilla tracking morning. We will walk to the nearby park headquarters for a briefing and to select our Porters for the day. Then we’re off on a drive to the trailhead nearest our appointed Gorilla family. The drive may take between 10 minutes and 2 hours before we start our Gorilla tracking. Tracking can be strenuous because of the steep slopes and the high altitude. Initially, we will walk along established paths, our Ranger coordinating with the advance trackers by radio to guide us in to the Gorillas’ last known location. As we get to where the Gorillas are, we will leave the paths and begin hacking our way through the slippery underbrush. Our Porters will stay back because only our privileged party of 8 and our Ranger may approach the Gorillas to spend our magical hour with them. This hour always passes too quickly before it’s time to reluctantly make our way back to our waiting vehicles.

Day 10: End of Itinerary

Today transfer approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to Kigali for a city tour and after transfer to the airport and check-in for your schechuled departure flight.
