Sample Botswana Classic Safari with Victoria Falls

Days 1 - 3: Moremi Game Reserve

On arrival in Maun, you are met and transferred by light aircraft to the Moremi Game Reserve for 3 nights.

Days 4 - 5: Okavango Delta

On arrival in Maun, you are met and transferred by light aircraft to Camp Okavango or Xugana Island Lodge for 2 nights.

Note: Most people fly, but there is also an option to travel by boat between the lodges.

The delta is Africa’s largest and most beautiful oasis – an isolated, lush green paradise with some of the richest wildlife in the world. It is a maze of waterways, lagoons, vast grassy plains and palm-fringed and wooded islands and is home to a wide array of animals and birds. At Camp Okavango, game viewing is predominantly by motorboat, as well as game walks with an experienced and armed guide on the delta’s islands. The evocative mokoro trips are in shallower waters, water levels permitting.

Days 6 - 8: Chobe River Front

This morning, after a final game activity, you are transferred by light charter flight to either the Chobe river area or the Savute Channel for a 3 night stay.

The itinerary price assumes Chobe Game Lodge on the Chobe River. But - for a small supplement - you can head to the Savute Channel instead.

The Chobe river offers a classic mix of game drives and game-viewing by boat. This area is known for its massive herds of elephants. Chobe Game Lodge is one of the few lodges in the park which gives a more exclusive experience. But the park is busy...

Alternatively Savute Channel is a rugged semi-arid wilderness region in the south-western part of Chobe National Park, famous for its excellent year-round game viewing.

Savute Channel, a rugged semi-arid wilderness region in the south-western part of Chobe National Park, famous for its excellent year-round game viewing. The channel began as an offshoot of the Linyanti River and its mysterious wet and dry cycles mould this region of Chobe. What was once a hippo-filled river is now open, particularly nutritious, grassland sustaining a marvellous array of animal and bird life. The summer rains (November to March) bring a feast for the predators, as thousands of migrating zebra and wildebeest congregate on the marsh whilst undertaking the journey in search of life’s basic needs – water and food.
