Day 1: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

On arrival at Eastgate airport you will be met by your game ranger and transfered to Bateleur Camp.

If you have brought your own mountain bike then we will load them on a seperate trailer and transfer them to the camp.

Note:  if you are doing a self drive then we will meet you at the camp. Please be there before 2pm.

On arrival you will be met by the wonderful staff at Bateleur as well as your qualified mountain bike guide.

After a light lunch we will prepare the bikes and get them ready for a short afternoon cycle.

We will stop for sundowners in the bush and enjoy a spectacular african sunset.

Our bikes will be transported back to camp and we will embark on a short night drive to find some nocturnal animals.

Enjoy your first night around a camp fire where we will do a safety briefing and give details of the next days activities.

Day 2: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Your mountain bike safari will begin very early in the morning, as this is the best time to see the elusive big mammals especially lions and leopards.

We start off the day with some coffee and rusks before we climb on our bikes and head out into the wilderness.

We have an armed professional guide and ranger that will lead us . We explore and ride on elephant paths and follow game tracks , if still fresh.

We will stop for a mid morning coffee break. The back up crew will have laid out snacks and refreshments in the shade of a Jackalberry tree or the like.

We return to camp before lunch, depending on what we see and the temperature. In summer months it can get very hot out there.

We have time to relax around the camp. Maybe enjoy a dip in the swimming pool or just lounge and read on the deck overlooking the riverbed in front of the camp.

We will get together again mid afternoon. We can either go for another cycle or we can all go for an afternoon safari in the open vehicle. Some can cycle and some can go on a driven safari - it is all up to the individual.

We will all return in the early evening to a camp fire and welcome drinks.

We will enjoy a scrumptious home cooked meal prepared by the camp chef and staff.

After dinner we can sit around the camp fire and reflect on the day's  experience.

Day 3: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

As per day 2.

Day 4: End of Itinerary

We will embark on an early morning cycle as per the previous day but will ensure that we are back in camp by mid morning to enjoy a full brunch.

After brunch we will have time to pack and then we will transfer you back to Eastgate airport in time for your scheduled flight back to Johannesburg.

Note: there are flights directly to Cape Town if you intend extending your trip to the Cape.
