Day 3: The Sacred Valley

Visit Pisac Archaeological Site and Calca Market (from Cusco)

High in the Sacred Valley, the archaeological site of Pisac stretches across well-preserved terraces that follow the natural shape of the mountain. Once an important ceremonial and agricultural centre, it holds the only known Inca sun dial outside of Machu Picchu, overlooking a valley still guided by its cycles.

Further down, Calca offers a closer look at everyday life. Its market is active and authentic, with stalls offering herbs, flowers and seasonal produce. Together, Pisac and Calca reveal how past and present meet in harmony, offering a deeper connection with the Valley and its people.

Day 4: The Sacred Valley

Lake Huaypo Stand Up Paddle Boarding & Biking to Maras

You will head over to the beautiful and serene waters of Lake Huaypo for a pleasant morning of kayak exploration. Soak in the Andean scenery and spot rare birds while exploring the Sacred Valley from a unique angle. After a gourmet outdoor lunch, you will go mountain biking to the awe-inspiring salt mines of Maras passing through sleepy settlements where locals are going about their daily lives, working their farmlands.

Please allow approximately up to two hours kayaking, up to three hours biking and up to seven hours for the entire experience | Please pack shoes that can get wet and a set of dry clothes for the lake activity.

Day 5: Machu Picchu

Explore Machu Picchu Citadel (with local guide)

Meet your guide for a short walk to the bus station and a 20-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu Citadel (elevation: 8,000 ft. – 2,432 m.a.s.l.). Set high in the folds of the Andes, Machu Picchu rises in quiet majesty, inviting you to lose yourself in its timeless beauty. Soak in the energy and atmosphere of one of the most significant archeological sites on the planet while your guide helps you uncover the secrets behind key ceremonial areas such as Sun Temple Viewpoint, the Sacred Plaza, and the Temple of the Condor. This itinerary offers deep historical context and an immersive, close-up view of the Inca architectural genius.

Please allow approximately three hours for the guided route and four hours for the entire experience. | You must show your passport in order to be allowed to enter Machu Picchu Citadel.

Day 6: Cusco

Conquering Machu Picchu Mountain (local guide)

Meet your guide for a short walk to the bus station. This is followed by a 30-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu Citadel (elevation: 8,000 ft. / 2,432 m.s.n.m.). This medium to challenging ascent begins near the guardhouse and climbs steadily up the eastern face of the mountain along a route defined by numerous Inca stone steps and narrow switchbacks. The trail ultimately provides the highest vantage point of the complex, offering an incomparable perspective, looking down over the entire Machu Picchu Citadel, the surrounding significant archaeological features and the vast Andean landscape below.

The entrance to the Machu Picchu Mountain trail is strictly regulated, with two daily entry times available. We will secure the earlier entry time for you, unless requested otherwise.

Please allow up to four hours hiking and up to five hours for the entire experience. | You must show your passport in order to be allowed to enter Machu Picchu Citadel.

Day 7: Cusco

Chocolate Workshop: From the Cacao Bean to Chocolate and much more

Step into the world of cacao and trace its transformation from bean to bar. Over the course of this hands-on experience, you will follow each stage of the process—from harvesting and roasting to grinding and moulding—gaining a deeper appreciation for the craft behind every piece of chocolate. Along the way, you will prepare and taste the first known chocolate drink, once enjoyed by the Mayas, and savour another rich cocoa-infused treat.
