Day 1: Gorongosa National Park

You will be able to check in at the Safari Air desk after arriving on your flight to Beira, this safari is planned to link with the Airlink flights from Johannesburg which is the most commonly used route for this destination.

The flight in by light aircraft is about 45mins and you will get to see a birds eye view of the rural landscapes and small farms as you reach the Pungwe River which forms the boundary of the park before landing.

You will be met on the airstrip and your safari starts with a game drive into camp so make sure you are already with cameras and binoculars from the beginning.

Days 2 - 5: Gorongosa National Park

Your days here will allow you to explore some beautiful areas within this park which include dense palm forests, miombo woodlands, lowland sand forests and vast open grasslands on the edges of Lake Urema. Depending on the time of year and the previous rains it would be possible to enjoy some game viewing by boat on this lake as well.

Highlights of this park include seeing the very successful packs of African Wild Dogs - the vast herds of Common Waterbuck, over 60,000 of them! - African Bushpigs can be seen during the day - Lots of Nyala and Bushbuck here - time with the pangolin rescue team here that are rehabilitating these rare creatures from the pet trade to a life back in the safety of this vast National Park.

Your safari activities here will include day and night game drives, bush walks and if water levels allow boating on Lake Urema.

Day 6: End of Itinerary
