The program at La Finca Lodge is either a Sunday to Thursday OR Thursday to Sunday schedule with arrival and departure in Brownsville, TX. Below are both itineraries outlined are outlined below so you can familiarize yourself with the specific trip you are participating on.
SUNDAY – THURSDAY TRIP
Sunday – arrival into Brownsville, TX before 4:00pm where a member from La Finca Lodge will be on hand to greet you. After clearing customs in Matamorsa, Mexico, the group will then be transferred about 2 hours south to La Finca Lodge in San Fernando, Mexico. No hunting this afternoon as you will unpack and enjoy dinner and drinks this evening.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – These are three full days hunting duck and quail with overnights at La Finca Lodge.
Thursday – No hunting this morning as you will be transferred back to Brownsville and check in for your flight home departing after 10:00am.
THURSDAY - SUNDAY TRIP
Thursday – arrival into Brownsville, TX before 10:00am where a member from La Finca Lodge will be on hand to greet you. After clearing customs in Matamorsa, Mexico, the group will then be transferred about 2 hours south to La Finca Lodge in San Fernando, Mexico. You will go out for an afternoon hunt today.
Friday & Saturday – These are two full days hunting duck and quail with overnights at La Finca Lodge.
Sunday – You have one last morning hunt and then the group will be back to Brownsville and check in for your flight home departing after 4:30pm.
In keeping with Trek's policy, we realize gratuities are a gesture and earned by the staff. We also recognized most hunters do generally tip their guides and lodge staff. The suggested gratuity amount for your hunt on the normal program is $300 per hunter. This can be given to lodge owner, Steven McCain, and he will disperse to bird boys and staff at the end of your hunt. All gratuities need to be paid in cash.
Gun Rental is included in your trip fee. La Finca has a wide selection of Beretta and Benelli shotguns in both 12 ga and 20 ga. Shell prices are $16/box and preferred payment method is cash. Suggested amount to bring is $1,000 and can be given to outfitter Steve McCain upon arrival if desired. Anything over that amount can be paid by check at the end of your trip.
Do not forget to bring Waders, Snake Boots and Snake Chaps.
Departure on Thursday – No hunting this morning as you will be transferred back to Brownsville and check in for your flight home departing after 10:00am.
Departure on Sunday – You have one last morning hunt and then the group will be back to Brownsville and check in for your flight home departing after 4:30pm.
