After clearing the entry formalities for South Africa you will be met in the arrivals area by our team who will get you to the transfer vehicles and off to your lodge where you will be for the next 2 nights. We will all meet here and after everyone has caught their breath from their travels here we will discuss the upcoming events and meet some of the people involved with this experience in South Africa.

Cape Town is a great place to start any safari experience in Southern Africa with it's wonderful array of activities both on land and at sea, incredible landscapes that include the famous Table Mountain, its beautiful winelands and a host of amazing restaurants that will tempt any palate. There is lots to do here!

Today you fly from Cape Town right across South Africa to land at the gateway airport to the famous Kruger National Park. This is one of Africa's flagship safari areas and South Africa's largest national park by some margin.
You will be met at the airport and then we have a 45 min road transfer to the lodge where your safari activities begin in this excellent private concession area, which is part of the Greater Kruger conservation system and hosts all the classic African Mammals including your "Big 5" and a whole lot more. You will be able to explore this area either with game drives in the morning and afternoon and then you can add in bush walks and night game drives. These will all give you very different perspectives of this wild area of South Africa.

From Ngala we now get serious about the conservation work - starting at the Wildlife College where you will see the type of training that these students and recruits from around Africa learn for the various roles they are planning to be a part of , or to help upskill people already active in the field. You will also get to see not only the human training but also the training that the dog tracking teams go through and the breeding programs to help create effective future dog tracking teams that have proven to be an incredibly effective tool in anti-poaching work around Africa.

It ramps up again when you move to the Selati Reserve - here you will now get a very hands on experience with your participation in the conservation work that happens in this well managed reserve on the boundary of the Kruger National Park. Some of the work that you will be getting involved with could be the De-horning of Rhino - the collaring of elephant - collaring a large predator like lion or hyaena. Plus you will be visiting the research control rooms to see what their work involves and learn about the interesting information that they are learning about particular species from predators to prey to help with management plans to keep these systems healthy and viable. This is all a very hands on experience and you will know and feel the long term benefit for the species of the work you have done here.

Today you will be driven to the Hoedspruit airport for your onward connecting flights home or other destinations.
