Day 2: South Luangwa National Park

Days on safari start early, and you will be woken by the lodge watchman around 5am.   After a quick breakfast of tea/coffee, cereals and toast, you’ll head into the park, crossing the river and aiming to be inside soon after 6:00am to catch the best light - and the highest chances of amazing wildlife sightings.

Your safari guide will aim to show you the magic of this untouched part of the world in the morning light.  Pausing for tea and snacks at around 8.30am, you then continue your safari, returning at around 10 to the lodge for brunch.

The afternoons are spent relaxing in the lodge grounds, taking care not to be in the way of any wandering elephant, bush buck or monkey.

At 3pm the lodge drums sound 'tea-time', with cake, to give you the energy for your afternoon and evening drive.  At sunset your safari guide will find you a spot for sundowner drinks before taking you on a night drive.

Return to the lodge for supper and rest.
