Arrive at Zanzibar international airport and meet your representative from A Tent with a view. Here, you will be put onto your flight to Saadani National Park. It takes 15 minutes to arrive at Saadani airstrip where your guide will be waiting to welcome you into this magical coastal preserve. Enjoy a game drive ending at Simply Saadani Camp last light. Settle into your beachfront rooms before dinner. It’s hard to imagine that with the sounds of the sea and the white sand beach, you are actually surrounded by wild bush.

The next 2 days are for you relax at the camp, swim in the ocean, walk the deserted beach, explore the colour-coded nature trails around the camp, enjoy a local canoe ride along the Mafui creek, or enjoy a lecture about the Saadani elephant collaring project and conservation work run from the camp. You can also book a walking tour to the fishing village of Mkwaja or a safari ( at extra cost) directly with the camp. Dinner and overnight.

After lunch, say goodbye to Simply Saadani camp and head out on an afternoon game drive ending at the amazing tower, central to Babs’ camp. The tower is a 20 metre high stone structure complete with two suites, a private bar & restaurant and its own fifth storey crows’ nest. This camp is set on the edge of a salt flat ecosystem, and is a favourite place for passing elephants. We have discovered over the years that many animals like to settle near to the tower at night as they feel safe. Dinner on the salt flats under the endless stars.

This is a day for thrilling game drives and boat safari on the Wami River full of hippos, crocs and fantastic birdlife. Dinner at the tower's restaurant.

Awake early for a foot safari on the salt flats, a great way to study the mosaic of animal prints and see the smaller flora and fauna so often missed on game drive. Return to the tower for your brunch. Around 14:00, transfer through the park to the airstrip to connect with a flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, transfer by road to Nungwi village in the north part of the island arriving at the lovely The Zanzibari boutique hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Relax at The Zanzibari boutique hotel. You can opt to go on a number of excursions from the hotel (extra cost) including a sunset cruise, visit to historical stone town, snorkeling trip & diving, other watersports activities and a guided tour of the nearby fishing village of Nungwi with the “man who knows everybody” and who also happens to be one of our managers.
