Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by your tour representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore your magnificent surroundings in the Mother City.

Today starts from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront (V&A), an entertainment hub that offers a plethora of stores and over 80 ethnically diverse restaurants and excursions. Here you will visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, a top tourist attraction. The touch pool allows children to explore the various underwater creatures and to learn about marine life in a up close and personal way. Enjoy the penguins at the aquarium. Another experience at the waterfront that warrants attention is the Cape Wheel, a massive observation wheel offering 360-degree views of Cape Town and surroundings. After lunch at the V&A, you jump onto the hop-on-off, double-decker, open-roof bus tour of the city’s sites at your own pace. Hop off at Table Mountain to take in the spectacular views from the cable car and from the summit. The bus returns you to the V&A where you have the rest of the day to explore.

After breakfast you will visit District 6 Museum to dig deeper into the history of a community that was forcefully evicted during the Apartheid era. You then head to the Bo-Kaap (formerly known as the Malay Quarter) where streets are lined with the instantly recognisable multi-coloured houses. Forced removals from this central Cape Town area also took place but only of everyone who was not designated a “Malay” (Cape Muslim). Here, in the private home of a local lady, you will have a hands-on cooking class and enjoy your creations with your lunch. Rest of the afternoon is spent exploring the Company Gardens, a sizeable botanical park in the heart of the city, planted by European settlers in 1650, where the South African Parliament neoclassical building is located. Your dinner at Gold Restaurant is a 14-dish tasting menu which honours African story-telling and culinary traditions combined with modern sophistication. The dishes arrive at your table labeled by country of origin, cooking techniques and spicing.

Early this morning you will drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, also known as Cape Town’s “Riviera”, until you reach Hout Bay where you embark on a 40-minute cruise charter past the famous Maori Bay Wreck, to the protected home of thousands of wild Cape Fur Seals - Duiker Island Seal Colony. Then you have the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with over 400 species of birds, squirrel monkeys, meerkats and reptiles at the World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary and Monkey Park. You then journey, via Chapman’s Peak where there will be a photo-stop, to Boulders Beach to see the colony of vulnerable African Penguins in their natural habitat. You will visit nearby Simon's Town for lunch. Then, take in the countryside en-route to the southern-most point of the Cape Peninsula - Cape of Good Hope. There are three promontories that tower over 200m above the sea - Cape of Good Hope, Cape Maclear and Cape Point. At Cape Point, you take the Funicular Railway to the old lighthouse and panoramic views at the summit. Evening at your own leisure.

Robben Island has a rich 500-year-old history and the ferry boat ride is wonderfully scenic, but the island is best known for the prison that housed former President Nelson Mandela during his incarceration as a political prisoner. This tour celebrates the triumph of the human spirit over adversity. On your return to Cape Town you depart for Kirstenbosch National Botantical Gardens where you will enjoy a picnic lunch in this garden paradise. Kirstenbosch is the first botanical garden to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is 2015’s International Garden of the Year. Few gardens match the sheer grandeur of the 528 hectares set against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Explore as much as you want or simply laze on the lawns. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Today you depart Cape Town for Boschendal Wine Estate in the beautiful town of Franschhoek which is part of the majestic Cape Winelands region. The farm’s title deeds are dated 1685 and on arrival you will tour the farm which offers insight into the history and farming practices. After that you will have the choice of selecting horse riding or cycling on one of the five trails on the farm. Your picnic lunch basket filled with delicious wholesome food is enjoyed with dramatic views on the lush lawns of the Rhone Rose Garden. Only naturally grown produce from the estate and locally made artisan goods are included in your basket. You end the day with a tour of the historic Cape Dutch manor house that dates to 1812 and enjoy a wine and chocolate pairing. You will be taken to your hotel to check in and the rest of day is at leisure in Franschhoek.

Depending on your schedule, enjoy breakfast at your convenience before your onward flight home or the next leg of your vacation. Or, perhaps, you will have some time at leisure to catch up with some last-minute shopping before being transferred to the Cape Town International Airport.
