Day 1: Overnight Travel

Depart the U.S. on international flight to Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Expert tips

There are 2 flight options to get to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, COPA and Air Boliviana. COPA is a Latin carrier, based in Panama City, Panama. For many folks this is the preferred carrier as they are partnered with United Airlines and offer service out of 6 major U.S. cities, connecting through Panama City and into Santa Cruz.  The COPA flight arrives into Santa Cruz about 9:30pm on the day of departure from the States and on the back end, departs Santa Cruz about 2:30am. If flying COPA you would require accommodations in Santa Cruz on both ends of the trip. Our partners would reserve your single or double rooms and you'd just pay the hotel directly upon check in as these rooms are not included in the trip fee.

The other option is Air Boliviana. This carrier departs Miami daily at 10:30pm, arriving into Santa Cruz at approximately 6:00am, the next day. On the flight home, Boliviana departs Santa Cruz at 10:30pm, back into Miami at 5:30am, next morning. Please note that the schedules for Boliviana are subject to occasional change.

For those making their own flight arrangements, Trek suggests a 4 hour connecting time on both the outbound and return legs of your flights.

Days 2 - 4: The Amazon Bolivia

If flying  Air Boliviana,  upon arrival into Santa Cruz about 6:00am, you will be met and transferred to the domestic airport for your private three hour charter flight to Cano Negro Lodge.

If flying COPA, you will be met at your hotel about 7am for transfer to  the domestic airport for your private three hour charter flight to Cano Negro Lodge.

On arrival, enjoy lunch and settle in before your first afternoon of fishing.

The following two days will be full fishing days, returning to the lodge everyday at noon for lunch and siesta if you wish, before heading out to fish the remainder of the day.

Day 5: Overnight Travel

You will fish this morning for your final session. After fishing you will get cleaned up, packed up  and have a bite to eat before taking  your charter flight back to Santa Cruz.  Now, depending upon the  international flight back to the States, you might require a day room in the city. If needed, our folks will book your accommodations and you would just pay the otel upon check in. The remainder of today is at leisure.

Expert tips

The Air Boliviana flight (BoA) currently departs  Santa Cruz at 11pm., our folks will make sure you are at the airport by 8pm to check in for this flight. Many folks on this flight will just get a day room to store luggage and relax for a few hours before being transferred to the airport. Others might have dinner in town and be transferred from the to the airport, it's really up to you.

Day 6: End of Itinerary

COPA departs Santa Cruz at 2:30am while the BoA flight will have departed just before midnight of the previous day.
