Today, we do a short drive to a different location in order to see from a close range the called “Einstein Monkeys” or “Nutcracking Monkeys”. Bearded capuchin monkeys were the first non-ape primates to be discovered using tools in the wild. They crack tough nuts by placing them on pitted stone anvils and then hitting them hard with other large rocks. Some scientific studies have revealed that Nut-cracking monkeys not only can use tools but to use them with skills similar to humans. Both (monkeys & humans) start the process of cracking a nut by placing the nuts in the most stable position on a stone (“anvil”) keeping them from rolling away.
After the visit, we return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon, we have a final chance of either view the Hyacinth Macaws, take a walk in the forest or do some birdwatching around the camp. If you were no lucky enough to watch the wolf properly we may organize a visit in the late afternoon/early evening. Dinner and overnight at Hyacinth Valley Camp.
