Napier

Day notes

After a week of conference sessions, it is now time to enjoy some of the sights of New Zealand on a trip exclusively offered to conference delegates and their accompanying partners. This fully guided journey will take you from Wellington to Napier with a rich and varied itinerary, enabling you to experience some of the very best of the lower North Island.

Your guide will meet you in Wellington for an early morning departure. Please confirm your central Wellington hotel with us at least two months prior to departure, so we can finalise your pick-up time and provide all relevant contact details.

Departing the capital, travel north over the Remutaka Ranges into the picturesque Wairarapa region. Enjoy a stop in the charming village of Greytown, known for its beautifully preserved Victorian architecture, boutique shops, and relaxed country atmosphere.

Continue on to Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre for a memorable, leader-led visit. Nestled in native forest, this sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation of New Zealand’s unique wildlife. Your guided experience will offer insight into important breeding programmes and the chance to see iconic native species up close.

From here, journey north through scenic countryside and rural townships as you make your way to the Hawke’s Bay region, renowned for its sunshine, coastal beauty, and world-class produce.

Upon arrival in Napier, take part in a leader-led walking tour of this distinctive seaside city, famous for its beautifully preserved Art Deco architecture. Learn about Napier’s fascinating history and rebuilding following the 1931 earthquake, while exploring its vibrant streets.

Your experience concludes with a leader-led wine tasting in one of Hawke’s Bay’s celebrated wineries, where you can sample a selection of the region’s acclaimed wines and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this premier wine-growing area.
