Namaqualand Daisy Tour

Check in to Oranjerus Holiday resort. 

• Settle into your accommodation for the night 
• Get bikes ready for following day
• Sundowners overlooking the Orange River (breathtaking)  
• Dinner & bed

After a light breakfast, we set out to begin our cycle tour. The first sight is Keimoes, then the Augrabies Waterfall, and we end at our overnight stop in Klein-Pella. The adventures of this day include:

• Cycle towards Keimoes and Kakamas among the vineyards along the Orange River (±44km)
• Drive to the famous Augrabies Waterfall
• Light lunch after the visit to the Falls
• Drive to Pofadder
• Cycle last 8km on a sandy, slightly downhill road to the beautiful overnight accommodation

Spend the day cycling towards and along the banks of the Orange River on the biggest date farm in Southern Africa. Highlights of the day include:

• Custom cycle tour of the biggest date farm in Southern Africa
• Tea/coffee on the riverbank while looking over the river towards Namibia
• Walk amongst the 1700 date palms
• Cycle back to guest house for lunch
• Leisurely afternoon off
• Optional cycle on an old, scenic road

After breakfast, take a drive to Pella to visit the cathedral and then travel on to Kamieskroon for a day of viewing and visiting beautiful sites along the route. Highlights to look forward to include:

• Drive to Pella to visit the old Cathedral and the “Sisters”
• Travel on to Springbok and enjoy coffee at the famous Springbok Café.
• Cycle in the Goegap Nature Reserve’s 20km loop and enjoy "braai broodtjies with the locals"
• Rack bikes or cycle to overnight accommodation

After breakfast, we depart from our hotel and cycling along a bumpy but beatiful road.

We eventually end up at the Namaqualand National Park (“Skilpad” Flower Reserve).

After lunch we rack bikes & drive up the Kamieskroon Pass, then cycle the last 20 kms to Pedroskloof along a beautiful valley.

Savour the closeness to nature and the absolute beauty of the surrounds. The 1000-hectare reserve is renowned as one of the best places to see flowers in Namaqualand.  It catches much of the rain that blows off the sea and has magnificent flower displays even when the surrounding areas do not.

Today we cycle along another quiet valley with quiver trees on either side of the road. On the return trip, an option is to stop at a local “shebeen” for some welcome refreshments before driving back to the guesthouse for a late lunch. 

The scenery is breathtaking!

We start our return journey to Oranjerus  via Springbok & Pofadder.  Enjoy a delicious lunch with some local wine plus brandy tasting at Bezalel. Then head to Kanoneiland for our last night together!!

• Drive to Pofadder for first stop
• Continue to Bezalel
• Enjoy  wine & brandy tasting
• Lunch after or during tasting session!
• Drive to Kanoneiland for overnight at Oranjerus.

Breakfast & then clients depart for their homeward journey.
