NORTH PANTANAL CRUISE 2024 | Porto Jofre to Morrinhos

Day 1: Porto Jofre

Reception at Cuiabá airport (CGB), flight must arrive before noon, we recommend the day before. Depart to the gold miner’s town of Poconé - 111 km on the paved state road. Then further on towards Porto Jofre along the 147km unpaved Transpantaneira Park Road. Lunch enroute. We’ll board the vessel by the end of the day for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Negrão River Overnight

During the cruise there will be several outings or river safaris, done in a very comfortable and safe speedboat, exploring lakes, river channels and lagoons searching for jaguars and other wildlife roaming along the riverbanks and sand dunes. Begin departing on a speedboat to explore the ‘Meeting of Waters’ State Park and its labyrinth formed by the waters of the Piquiri, Three Brothers and Cuiabá Rivers. Lunch on board. Then we continue exploring the ‘Negrão’ and ‘Negrinho’ Rivers, while the Vessel keeps cruising down the river. Meet the Vessel for dinner and rest.

Negrão River Overnight

Day 3: Pantanal National Park Overnight

Early morning the Vessel will cruise up the Cuiabá River. In our safari boat, we will explore the ‘Burro’ Bay, the Park’s main bay.  Lunch on board, while cruising towards the Pantanal National Park. Moving on, we continue our river safari down to the ‘Caracará’ landmark and further explore the ‘Acorizal’ Bay. We approach the ‘Gaiva’ Hill, where the group will visit an archeological site. Overnight in the proximity of the Gaiva Hill.

Pantanal National Park Overnight

Day 4: Paraguai River Overnight

We start the day cruising down to the ‘Amolar’ mountain chain, an exceptionally beautiful landscape. Here the giant water lilies are only one of the marvelous nature gifts to be observed.  Back to the Motor Vessel, we will cross two of the largest bays on the Paraguay River, the ‘Gaiva’ and ‘Uberaba’ bays, each more than 30km wide, it’s almost like crossing a sea. In the afternoon, we end our day in the surrounding bays and river channels in search of jaguars and other wildlife.

Paraguai River Overnight

Day 5: Taiamã Reserve Overnight

In the morning, we go on a river safari while the vessel keeps cruising downriver to a region known as Concepcion Port (in the 70s the cattle bred on the fields between Poconé and the Paraguay river, they were embarked in this Port and taken downstream to Corumbá to be transported by train to São Paulo city). Then, the motor vessel will cruise on the Paraguay River channel, meeting the group for lunch around the ‘Formoso’ Bay. Further on, we get near Taiaman Ecological Reserve, which is a 70km long island. In speedboat we will explore the right side known as ‘Bracinho’. Return to the vessel for dinner and overnight.

Taiamã Reserve Overnight

Day 6: Jaurú River Overnight, Morrinhos

After an early breakfast, board your river safari boat to explore what this region's waters hide in Taiaman Ecological Reserve. Return for lunch. Board the speedboat and explore its waterways and overflowed grassland before your last dinner and overnight onboard.

Day 7: End of Itinerary

After early breakfast (latest at 8.00 a.m.), disembark the vessel at Morrinhos and board your air-conditioned vehicle back to Cuiabá airport (80km on dirt road and 200 on paved federal road – Aprox 5 hours). Lunch enroute Check in for your late afternoon flight (after 3pm) for your next destination. End of our services.
