Day 1: Boteti River - Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

You will be met on arrival at Maun airport, and transferred by road to Meno a Kwena camp. This transfer takes approximately 1 1/2 hours. After settling into your comfortable safari tent, it's time for your first safari experience in the Makgadikgadi Pans and the area surrounding the camp.

The camp is located on a prime spot on the Boteti River, overlooking the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. You can even watch the wildlife at the river below from the comfort of your private veranda, a real "armchair safari".

Day 2: Boteti River - Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

The camp was originally used by Southern Africa’s legendary explorers, and although a few touches have been added here, it’s refreshingly and stylishly simple. And actually, the real treat at Meno is the connection with nature; when an elephant provides your alarm call in the morning, and you can game view straight from your private veranda, nothing else really matters.

Venture out on scheduled game drives in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park; enjoy cultural safaris and walks with the ancient Bushmen. So many varied experiences.

Day 3: Boteti River - Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

The safari never stops at Meno a Kwena, a hidden gem of a camp perched on a rocky clifftop above the Boteti River in Botswana. With a glittering roster of activities, including day trips to the Makgadikgadi Pans, guided walks with the San bushmen, and wildlife-watching boat trips, there’s plenty to get your teeth into. But sometimes, the best game viewing is where you least expect it, and at Meno, it’s right in front you. From their lofty position, the nine tents look down on a menagerie of animals at the water below, from herds of majestic elephant, to dazzles of nomadic zebra – all you need to do is sit back, and take it all in.

Day 4: Khwai Private Reserve

Return by road transfer to Maun, and connect with your light aircraft transfer to your next adventure - Sable Alley Camp in the Okavango Delta area.

On arrival at the airstrip you will be met by your ranger, and transferred to camp. Settle into your comfortable safari tent, and enjoy your first safari activity in the afternoon.

Expert tips

Luggage restrictions for the light aircraft transfer: max. 20 kg (including hand luggage) packed in soft bags - no hard suitcases can be loaded on this aircraft!

Day 5: Khwai Private Reserve

Sable Alley opened in 2017, and is a top class camp, sustainable as well as sophisticated. The lodge is built in partnership with the local communities in Khwai, and proceeds from the camp go straight into Khwai Village community projects.

And what about the wildlife? Located right on the banks of a lily-covered lagoon, home to harrumphing hippo and a favourite drinking spot for elephant and buffalo, the big game quite literally comes to you at Sable. But as tempting as it is to stay in camp, venture out you should, for Khwai offers one of Africa’s greatest and most exclusive safari experiences. Have your binoculars at the ready for lion, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, elephant and hundreds of dainty antelope as you drive through the diverse landscapes.

Day 6: Khwai Private Reserve

The game viewing in the area around Sable Alley is fantastic, and you’ll find lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo all in close proximity as well as a multi-coloured array of birdlife. There’s an exciting range of activities to enjoy, including day and evening game drives, mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions (when water levels permit), game walks, viewing hides, and more.
