Arrival in Windhoek

You’ll be picked up at the airport by your tour guide and driven to The Windhoek Luxury Suites in Windhoek. The cozy guesthouse offers the chance to recover from the long flight and refresh yourself in the swimming pool. In the afternoon, you’ll go on a short city tour and can try one of the many game dishes over dinner.

Day 2: Okonjima Nature Reserve

Enjoy our first morning in Namibia with a hearty breakfast before heading to Okonjima Plains Camp, situated in a 22,000-hectare private nature reserve in the middle of the Omboroko Mountains. You are already expected for lunch and in the afternoon, there is a leopard-tracking game drive booked for you.

Day 3: Etosha South

To Etosha National Park

Today you want to get to Etosha as quickly as possible. The park is one of the largest animal reserves in the world and considered one of the most outstanding game parks in Africa. The animals are attracted by the Etosha Pan, a huge depression that is rarely filled with rainwater, but which has many waterholes on its edge where numerous animals and birds can be found all year round. Your beautiful lodge, with its luxurious suites, is nestled in a forest of mopane and white seringa trees just 25 km from the park entrance. In the afternoon, you can drive into the park for your first game viewing.

Day 4: Etosha South

Etosha National Park

Exciting animal sightings await you today in the Etosha National Park. You have the whole day to visit the various waterholes with our guide and observe animals such as elephants, giraffes, kudus, zebra, oryx antelopes, black-nosed impala, wildebeest, springbok, ostriches and, with a bit of luck, even lions. Just be sure to leave the park by sunset!

Day 5: Etosha East

Drive through the eastern Etosha National Park

You have another day to enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the park and observe the animals at the various waterholes along the way. Leave the park through the eastern gate by sunset at the latest and look out for the beautiful Mushara Lodge with its tastefully furnished bungalows nearby.

Day 6: Rundu

Trip to Rundu

Today you enter the most densely populated part of Namibia, the Okavango. On the way to Hakusembe Lodge, you’ll see picturesque round huts inhabited by the locals of the Kavango tribe. With the lodge sitting right on the mighty Okavango a spectacular sunset boat cruise, with views of Angola on the other side of the river, awaits.

Day 7: Okavango River

At the Okavango

Woken by birdsong on the wonderful Okavango River, ye continue eastwards to the Caprivi, from time to time spotting the kraals of the Kavango and the thatch traders selling sheaves of straw along the road to build roofs for the huts. RiverDance Lodge sits in the middle of old trees directly on the banks of the Okavango. You are already expected for lunch, and at sunset can go on another unforgettable boat trip on the Okavango.

Day 8: Okavango River

Mahangu National Park

Your tour guide will take you to the Mahangu National Park today, one of the most beautiful parks in Namibia with lots of interesting wildlife. You can hope to see buffalo, elephant, hippo, or maybe even the rare sable antelope, before returning to the lodge, and looking forward to a very quiet, with the huffing and puffing of hippos the only thing to be heard.

Day 9: Kwando River

You cross the Okavango and continue through the Bwabwata National Park to your lodge, which is situated on the east side of the Kwando River. From the wooden deck of the lodge, with its direct view of the river, you’ll experience “pure Africa”. After lunch, you can relax a little before taking a boat trip on the Kwando in the afternoon.

Day 10: Kwando River

Bwabwata National Park

Today you go on a game drive in the Bwabwata National Park where you’re sure to see elephant as the region around the Kwando River is considered to have the highest concentration of them in southern Africa. The landscape around the “Horseshoe” is particularly interesting. In your free time in the afternoon, you may want to try your hand at fishing on the Kwando. Or you can choose to simply enjoy the typical African atmosphere at the lodge.

Day 11: Chobe River Front Namibia

To the Chobe River

Today you drive to Katima Mulilo and say goodbye to your tour guide. Don't worry though, all further transfers are organized, and you’ll be taken to Kasane in Botswana, where a representative of Zovu Elephant Lodge will be waiting for you. After a short boat trip, you’ll reach the lodge on an island in the Chobe River. In the afternoon you’ll take a very impressive boat trip during which you’ll see lots of elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and interesting water birds.

Day 12: Chobe River Front Namibia

Chobe National Park

In the morning you go on a game drive in the Chobe National Park, where you should again see many elephants, possibly hundreds, wandering to the river to quench their thirst. The drive along the riverbank promises numerous wildlife experiences, as there are around 80,000 elephants, numerous hippos, and thousands of buffalo. The buffalo are usually only seen in the early morning or late afternoon though, when they leave the bush to quench their thirst at the river. After lunch, you can look out over the Chobe River from the lodge before taking another boat trip in the afternoon

Day 13: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Victoria Falls

You continue by transfer to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe where your lodge is in a quiet part of town, surrounded by lush green gardens, but with the lively city centre within walking distance. You will certainly visit the world-famous waterfalls in the afternoon, taking in the breathtaking spectacle of huge masses of water cascading over a 110 m wide, 1708 m wide rock face.
