Your safari begins on arrival into Arusha (JRO), where you are met by your private guide and transferred to the peaceful Tumbili Lodge for an overnight stay. Set in lush gardens on the outskirts of town, it’s a calm and comfortable introduction to Tanzania, giving you time to rest before your journey into the wild begins.

The next morning, you depart Arusha and drive through rural Tanzania towards the wildlife-rich landscapes of Tarangire National Park, enjoying a scenic journey with a packed lunch en route. You arrive at Hilala Camp, a stylish and intimate tented camp set in a quieter, more remote section of the park near a permanent water source.

Over the next three nights, you settle into a classic safari rhythm in one of Tarangire’s most productive wildlife areas. Game drives explore open plains, riverine woodlands, and swamp systems that attract large herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra, and abundant antelope. Predator sightings are also common, with lion and leopard frequently moving through the area.

Hilala Camp offers a comfortable yet authentic bush experience, with well-appointed tented accommodation, warm hospitality, and a strong sense of seclusion. Between game drives, you can relax in camp, enjoy views over the surrounding wilderness, and take in the quieter pace of this less-visited part of the park.

Leaving Tarangire, you travel by road through ever-changing landscapes toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a scenic drive with a packed lunch en route. You spend two nights at Mysigio Camp, a small and authentic camp that offers a strong connection to the surrounding Maasai culture. Time here is as much about people as it is about wildlife, with opportunities to engage with local communities. A highlight is your full-day descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dense concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five, all within a dramatic volcanic caldera.

From Ngorongoro, you continue into Serengeti National Park, with the option to stop at Olduvai Gorge—famous for its significant archaeological discoveries linked to early human origins. You then spend three nights at Nyumbani Collection Camp, ideally located for exploring the central and eastern plains. This region is known for year-round wildlife, with excellent predator sightings and vast open landscapes that define the Serengeti experience.

Your journey continues north to the remote Kogatende region, one of the best areas to witness the Great Migration (season dependent). Here, you spend three nights at Intimate Camp Zebra, a mobile-style camp that places you close to the action. Game drives focus on tracking the herds and, if conditions allow, witnessing dramatic river crossings, along with superb predator activity that follows the migration.

Fly from Arusha to Zanzibar and take a short transfer east to Pongwe.
