Day notes
After clearing the immigration formalities at the airport you will be met in the arrivals area and then transferred to the guesthouse where you will spend your first night - this will give you time to relax after your long flights and enjoy a cold drink by the pool. A nice dinner will be arranged where you will meet the head of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and your guides to get an understanding of what they do and what the days ahead have in store for you.
The following day after breakfast you will head 20 miles out of Windhoek to the Daan Viljoen National Park with the Environmental Education Team from Giraffe Conservation Foundation to show you their Khomas Environmental Education Project (KEEP) in the field. This is the largest such effort in the country to enhance capacity of young Namibian school children and show what they have achieved by doing this. You will also visit the Mamadu Trust and see their work in helping to enhance the lives of disadvantaged young Namibians - A fascinating and inspiring day out before returning to the Windhoek suites for some time to relax or go into Windhoek. Dinner will be at Joe's Beer House - a popular dinner spot for tourists and locals alike.
