Day 1: Reykjavik

Upon your arrival, you are met and transferred to the Blue Lagoon.

Enjoy a relaxing swim in the warm aqua-blue waters renowned for their healing powers. Keflavik International Airport is only 20 minutes away from the Blue Lagoon.

At 14.00 you are transferred to your hotel downtown.

Day 3: South Iceland

You will start the day with a drive to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thingvellir is located in the dramatic rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates pull apart, clearly visible at the great Almannagjá or Everyman’s Gorge. Continue to Geysir, the place that gave its name to the phenomenon worldwide. From here, a 10-minute drive takes you to Gullfoss, or Golden Falls, Iceland’s most famous (and some say most beautiful) waterfall. In the afternoon, a scenic drive through classic Icelandic farmland delivers you to your hotel in time for dinner

Day 4: South Iceland

After breakfast drive into the dramatic wilderness area called Thorsmork (Thor's  Forest) north of Eyjafjallajokull, the volcano that erupted in the spring of 2010.  Explore the ravines that dissect the north face of the volcano, hike to viewpoints, hike to the run-off glacier Gigjokull, or drive up the slopes of the mighty glacier topped volcano for an otherworldly experience. We suggest a stop at beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the waterfall.

Day 5: Hof

This morning,  drive to the highland nature reserve of Landmannalaugar, one of Iceland´s most beautiful areas. Lmannlaugarand features the largest geothermal field in Iceland and the area derives its magnificence and diverse nature from Iceland’s active volcanic zone. Landmannalaugar´s spectacular landscape features stupendous ravines, steep rhyolite screes, rocky slopes, mountains with boiling hot springs, cold and clear springs, lush valleys with delicate wildflowers, light-coloured alluvial plains and sculptural peaks sporting all the colors of the rainbow.  You can choose today to relax and soak in a natural hot pool formed by a mixture of hot and cold water streaming in from the edge of Laugahraun lava field.

Arrive at your second country hotel in the late afternoon. 

Day 6: Hof

Start the day with a 2-3 hour hike in Skaftafell, Europe's largest national park, which encompasses a breathtaking collection of peaks and glaciers along with varied flora and fauna. If you are lucky, you'll observe Iceland's highest peak, Hvannadalshnukur. In the afternoon, we suggest visiting the dramatic Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon. Two James Bond movies were filmed in this fantastic location and floating among the ice you may spot seals, eider ducks, and, even witness the glacier calving into the crystal turquoise waters.

Day 7: Egilsstadir

Today, you will explore the fjords and mountain passes of the East Coast, before ending the day in Seydisfjordur, one of Iceland’s most picturesque coastal towns. Nestled in a long, calm, fjord, lined with snow-capped mountains and tumbling waterfalls, the town is known for its colorful 19th century houses. 

Day 8: Mývatn

Heading out from Seydisfjordur, you will traverse a highland desert. By noon, you should be at Dettifoss, Europe´s largest and most powerful waterfall. Continue to Jökulsargljufur canyon to Asbyrgi, and from there to Lake Mývatn, where you will spend two nights.

Day 9: Mývatn

Today explore the Lake Myvatn area, a starkly beautiful but otherworldly landscape of sputtering mudpots, weird lava formations, steaming fumaroles and volcanic craters. The area is also world-famous among bird-watchers. Most species of waterfowl present in Iceland are found here in great numbers, including 13 different species of duck. We reccommend to explore the pseudo-craters at Skutustadagigar, the lava formations at Dimmuborgir, the explosive crater Hverfjall, and the geothermal area at Namaskard. You may choose to take a dip in the mineral-rich waters of the Myvatn Nature Baths.

Day 10: Akureyri

Today drive to the so-called capital of the North, or the town of Akureyri. We suggest making a stop at beautiful Godafoss waterfall on the way. Akureyri is the largest town in Iceland, outside the Capital area, with a total population of 17,000. This surprisingly cosmopolitan town has an excellent selection of cafes, restaurants and museums, swimming pool, as well as Iceland´s largest botanical garden. 

If you are interested there is the possibility to go out from a Whale watching from Husavik, a small town 80 km north of  Akureyri. 

Day 11: Reykjavik

Take the day early as you will drive back to Reykjavik along the Kjölur mountain route, stopping along the way at Hveravellir, a geothermal oasis in the highlands. End in Reykjavik in the afternoon. 
(This is your longest driving day. 6 hour drive through the desert.) - Amazing!

If you do not feel you are in the mood for an adventure today, you can keep driving through the ring road to Reykjavik.

Day 12: Torshavn

Today you will drive to the airport, where you will drop off the car and depart for your flight to the Faeroe Islands (not included).

Upon your arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 13: Torshavn

From Tórshavn we will drive to Klaksvík, the second largest town in the Faroe Islands. The town is located on Borðoy. Klaksvík has a lot to offer, for instance Christianskirkjan, which is a modern church building and the Faroese brewing company, Föroya Bjór. From Klaksvík we will take the ferry Sam to Syðradalur, Kalsoy. Kalsoy is an island in the northeast of the Faroe Islands with astonishing views and is dubbed “the flute” because of its thin shape and many road-tunnels. In Kalsoy we will see “Kópakonan” (the seal woman) The statue is located in Mikladalur. After the visit in Kalsoy, we will return with the ferry to Klaksvík and drive to the village of Viðareiði, surrounded by beautiful nature. From Viðareiði we will head back to Tórshavn.

Day 14: Torshavn

The view of Gásadalur is one of the most photographed places in the Faroe Islands, and once you see it you will understand why. Gásadalur is home to the beautiful waterfall Múlafossur.  Gásadalur is located on the edge of the fjord of Mykines, surrounded by the highest mountains on Vágar. Árnafjall towers to a height of 722 meters to the north, and Eysturtindur to the east is 715 metres high. The village has been one of the most isolated villages in the Faroe Islands until a tunnel in 2004 connected the village with the rest of the island's road network. This hike trip begins in the valley about three kilometres west of the village of Bøur.  The first stretch of the path is steep and runs close to the edge of the mountain, but depending on the weather we get an outstanding view over Sørvágsfjørður, Tindhólmur, Gáshólmur and Mykines.

Enjoy a privately guided walking tour of Edinburgh, led by an expert local guide. Your walk will include iconic sites of this historic city such as Edinburgh Castle, the Old Town, Holyrood Palace and Arthur’s Seat.

And drive to Fort William, arriving at your hotel for the next two nights, Inverlochy Castle – a stunningly located castle nestled between glen and loch near Ben Nevis. Overnight at 5-star Inverlochy Castle.

Day 18: Torlundy

Canoe on Caledonian Canal

A day of exploring Scotland’s most famous waterway. From Fort William, you’ll paddle a canoe along the calm waters of the Caledonian Canal. After a break for lunch in Gairlochy, you’ll be privately transferred back to Neptune’s Staircase. The route on the canal is a peaceful one with plenty of opportunity to spot birds, wildlife and enjoy superb views of Ben Nevis. Reward yourself with afternoon tea at Inverlochy and spend a relaxed afternoon at the hotel.

Day 19: Portree

A short but scenic drive down the coast takes you to Arisaig. Enjoy a morning of sea kayaking with a guide in one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes on the Scottish West Coast – it’s suitable for beginners but still an enticing paddle for experts. The area is teeming with wildlife and you will experience paddling through a curious seal colony. After lunch, take the ferry to the Isle of Skye, travel north to the harbour town Portree and soak up the village atmosphere before settling into your luxury hotel built by the Macdonald clan in 1882. Day 20: Portree

Guided Hike on Skye

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and discuss options for privately guided hike. Enjoy a day of guided hiking on Skye with the opportunity of a boat trip to a remote part of the isle for a wonderful hike around a loch; or perhaps hiking along the coast to villages abandoned in the Highland Clearances many years ago. In the evening you can relax at the hotel where you can indulge in mouthwatering food or perhaps venture into Portree where you can visit the charming pubs or one of the many local eateries. Overnight at the 4-star Cuillin Hills Hotel, Isle of Skye. 

Day 21: Wester Ross

Guided Hike in Torridon

Leaving Skye, drive up the west coast to the beautiful region of Torridon. On the way, you will meet with your Wilderness Scotland guide for a beautiful hike, exploring the landscapes of Skye, Applecross or Torridon. You may want to linger on Skye, enjoy a high level but easy hike in Applecross, or venture to the ancient and rugged peaks of Torridon – our guide will help you decide! No matter what hike you choose, you will be surrounded by truly spectacular views of steep terraced sides and unique geology. Overnight at the 4-star gold Torridon Hotel.

Day 22: Wester Ross

Enjoy a relaxing day at the hotel to finish your holiday. Many activities are available on-site, including archery, clay pigeon shooting or –  if you are feeling more adventurous – canyoning. Overnight at the 4-star gold Torridon Hotel

Day 23: Glasgow

Today you will drive to Inverness where you will drop your car and board the train to Glasgow.
