Ultimate Finnish & Swedish Lapland family holiday

After your flight from London to Finnish Lapland, Kittilä airport you will be met by your local private host at the airport arrival hall, for your transfer to your amazing chalet.

Transfer time approx. 20 minutes.

On your arrival to chalet your host will introduce you the property and its features, goes through your itinerary and helps you settle in.

On your arrival a local licensed doctor will visit you at the chalet to perform a quick Covid-19 test, which results will be back within next day. According to test results we will continue the itinerary as planned or make adjustments where needed. 

At the same time your private chef will prepare you a delicious 3-course dinner, which you can enjoy right at your chalet comfort.

After breakfast you will meet your private host who will lead you to Levi Ski Resort where you will receive your skiing equipment and ski passes.

You'll have the whole day to enjoy the biggest ski resort in whole Finland - Levi Ski Resort

Located in a beautiful fell or a high-altitude barren landscape, it is the largest skiing area of Finland, and also one of the most prominent ones in Europe. The fell is 531 meters high. The slopes you will find here are best for beginners and intermediate skiers, but there are at least three slopes that are good for advanced skiers as well. In total, you will find 43 slopes, 27 lifts and 7 restaurants. 

Your driver/host will be on your disposal whole day, so that you can decide the time for lunch and retuning back to chalet on your own.

After whole day full on skiing, the fun does not stop there for today!

In the evening after 3-course dinner at the chalet you will join your first traditional adventure in Lapland- you will go search for Northern Lights with snowmobiles.  Snowmobile safari will be a special experience to discover the magic of snowy forests at twilight. Given extra light by the white snow reflection or the stars and the moon, you follow the snowmobile trails away from the lights of Levi village, looking for spots to admire the sky. For taking proper photos in darkness, you can bring along a tripod for your camera. The duration of the program is approximately 3 hours.

Today you have a chance to ski either in Levi Ski resort or your driver/host can take you to bit further north to try out Ylläs Ski resort instead.

Ylläs has two separate ski resorts, Sport Resort Ylläs on the Ylläsjärvi village side and Ylläs Ski Resort on the Äkäslompolo village side.

Drive to Ylläs takes about 45 minutes one way

Your driver/host will be on your disposal whole day, so that you can decide the time for lunch and retuning back to chalet on your own.

After a day of skiing you will be taken to sauna house, located by the Ounasjoki  river with a spectacular view towards Lappish fells and forests. Experience traditional wood heated Smoke sauna and take a dip into the river through a hole made in the ice. Smoke sauna is traditionally heated up for 6 hours and therefore offers a gentle heat. Leave your everyday rush for a moment and let the time stand still just to enjoy the atmosphere. Throw water on the stove and let the steam refresh you! You will get sauna instructions on the spot. Drinks and snacks are available for the best sauna experience.

After sauna your driver will take you back to your chalet where the dinner and  best night sleep will be guaranteed!

After breakfast in the chalet, your host will take you to your next Lapland adventure - to guide your sled dog team through the white wilderness

Ready, set, mush: this husky ride is packed with excitement and thrills! It's time to meet the friendly husky dogs that are eager take you through wonderful winter landscapes. Before departing on the safari, you'll be given instructions on how to control your sled. Once back at the kennel, you get to enjoy hot berry juice and lunch by an open fire and chat away with the musher about these amazing northern animals.

Total duration: 2,5 - 3 hours. Husky safari approximately 45-60 min. When sharing the husky sleigh on the safari one person is standing behind a sleigh as a controller and one is sitting on a sleigh as a passenger or choose to have your own husky team and much them through the wilderness all the way.

After safari you will have a relaxing evening in the chalet, enjoy sauna or go out with your host/driver for Northern Lights hunt, if the forecast is promising.

After breakfast you have a chance to choose your skiing location again  - either Levi or Ylläs Ski resort.

Your driver/host will be at your service throughout the day.

After day of skiing and outdoor fun you will be taken to an amazing sauna experience close by.  During this private session you will relax in a traditional Finnish wood fired Sauna and soak in open air barrel hot tub set in the Arctic forest where you can hopefully see the Aurora dance in the night sky above. Nordic snacks and drinks will be served during your stay.

After enjoying relaxing sauna you will be taken back to chalet were  dinner will be served , according to your preferences.

After breakfast you have a chance to choose your skiing location again  - either Levi or Ylläs Ski resort.

Your driver/host will be at your service throughout the day.

Dinner will be served at the chalet by your chef and later in the evening you will have a special night waiting for you. Your host will take you to further wilderness where walking on snowshoes along the silent slopes, you listen to the peace and quiet of the night while taking breaks to admire the breathtaking beauty of the night sky. You’ll take a rest in a hut and listen to the warm fire crackling while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and snacks. If you get lucky, you may see the northern lights making their dance in the night sky.

After breakfast you will have a your driver/host available for whole day so that you can explore Levi town, go skiing or visit local museums or even Levi Snowhotel.  Have a day at your own pace.

In the evening after dinner you will be taken to local traditional reindeer farm. You will meet the reindeer herder who will tell you about the reindeer herding traditions by the hot cup of tea and snack. Additionally you will have a chance to set yourself comfortably into a reindeer sleigh for few kilometer ride pulled by reindeer. If the sky is clear you might have yourself the most magical night by admiring Northern Lights while enjoying the peace and tranquility of a reindeer sleigh ride.

Today after breakfast you are in for an another traditional Lapland adventure - snowmobiling in wilderness and ice-fishing experience!

This snowmobile tour is for those who want to enjoy snowmobiling and experience ice fishing in the beautiful Lapland wilderness. The journey takes you through the beautiful winter forest and you make several stops on the way to enjoy the frozen nature and landscapes.
There will be a longer break to test your luck with ice fishing, the favorite hobby of many Laplanders. Your guide will give you the equipment, and after a little walk on the ice, you will be instructed how to drill a hole and set your fishing hook. You’ll make a small campfire while fishing, so you can grill any decent-sized catches you catch. If we don’t catch any fish, don’t worry – you will also enjoy some delicious lunch with hot drinks and sweet buns before snowmobiling back towards Levi.

The driving time is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours and the driving distance depends on the driving skills of the group. You will stay outdoors for about 4 hours and have a long snowmobile ride. 

In the evening enjoy dinner in your cozy chalet and relax in sauna or with the book by the fireplace.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

On a Christmas day you will have the most magical and cozy day in the comfort of your private chalet!

During the day you will have a chance to bake gingerbread cookies with your chef along with stories about Christmas traditions in Finland, learn how to prepare delicious Christmas inspired cocktails with local professional barman, decorate your own Christmas tree and meet the famous Santa Claus himself right in your own chalet!

Special Christmas lunch and dinner will be served during the day.

Today is the day when you can completely relax at your chalet after amazing Christmas eve celebrations last evening!

You have a your host and car on disposal for whole day, so that you can go for a walk or souvenire shopping in Levi or take a last chance to do some downhill skiing before you will continue to Swedish Lapland tomorrow,

Today is your last morning at the chalet where your chef will prepare your breakfast before you will continue with your Lapland adventure .

After breakfast, packing and check-out from the chalet, it is time to say goodbye to Finland. Your driver/host will take you across the border to Swedish Lapland. The drive from Levi to Harads, where you will be spending your first 2 nights in Sweden, takes about 5 hours in total. You will make a stop along the way for lunch and to stretch your legs.

Your long day of driving will be worth the wait when you arrive to world-famous Treehotel in Harads! 

What started with a film featuring a small wooden hut in the forest has become a cool hotel. These days Treehotel in Harads is considered one of the world's foremost travel destinations. But Treehotel is more than just a design favorite among the treetops. It’s the childhood fantasy we’ve all dreamed of – just in a more luxurious package.

7th room suite is designed to have different ‘experience levels’. The underside of the room shows a life-size photo of the pine tree tops as they looked before the room was there.  Inside the room you will find panoramic windows facing the river valley and the northern lights.  At the center of the room there is a terrace, formed by a net floor with a naturally growing pine in the middle. Through the net floor you can see 10 meters below you and behind a transparent railing lies the vast expanse of the Lule River Valley. A breath taking, awe-inspiring and perfectly safe place to be.

The room has a total size of 100 sq. m. whereof the accommodation takes up 75 sq. m. Here you will find five beds, two bedrooms with two beds each and one 120 cm extra bed in the lounge. There is a bathroom and a shower with eco-friendly features.  All of the Treehotel tree rooms have incinerating toilets and sustainable Rukkamoinika water system with 3 liters of water for washing your hands.

The room is dominated by Scandinavian wooden interiors and textiles. The façade is a burnt wood finish, completely unlike that of the other rooms. Something that makes the 7th Room particularly cozy is a temperature-controlled fireplace that lights itself below a certain temperature on cool winter nights.

Check-in to their most luxurious tree-cabin -  7th room and have a bit of rest and a walk in the area before you will be picked up for an unforgettable dining experience.

Tonight you will dine in style in a romantic lavvu-tent set up on the frozen river, where 3-course Nordic dinner will be served.

After dinner  enjoy your tree-room fullest and hopefully Northern Lights will make their appearance too!

Overnight at 7th room at Treehotel

After just a short walk to the main house you will enjoy delicious Swedish breakfast at Treehotel homely restaurant.

Right after breakfast you will receive your warm set of thermal clothing, so that you will feel comfortable during your day meeting local Sami indigenous people.

You will meet Anna, a young Sámi woman, who lives there with her family.
Brought up with reindeer herding, and still living a traditional life, Anna has a vast amount of local knowledge to share with you. In the lávvu (tent house) you will sit around the fireplace and listen to stories and joik (traditional Sami singing). You will also be served a three course meal prepared over an open fire, with locally produced ingredients. The camp is situated just outside of Jokkmokk, close to the Arctic Circle and you will have the chance to get really close to the reindeers and even feed them.

In the evening an amazing Nordic 6-course dinner will be served at Treehotel restaurant. Chefs will take your taste buds on a journey. Not only will you get to taste the wildly nourished ingredients, but you’ll also learn the inspiring story of each dish, such as the secret location the berries are picked, all with accuracy and finesse.

Overnight at 7th room

After breakfast and check-out from Treehotel you will meet your private driver who will comfortably take you to your final destination - to Jukkasjärvi.

If you think that 2 previous nights were special, then we are happy to surprise you even more! After 3,5h drive you will arrive to incredible ICEHOTEL.

On your arrival you will be taken to guided tour of the ICEHOTEL, so that you get familiar with the area and learn about the history and about the construction of the icehotel. The tour ends at the Kaamos cabin, where you can find your luggage. 

Kaamos Superior hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable with carefully selected, natural materials complemented by organic shades of white, grey and brown. Each superior room has its own individual artwork above the bed. All rooms are ground floor level with spruce and birch as next-door neighbors.

However you will spend a night in a iceroom tonight, Kaamos room being a nice warm back-up option if you feel unfomfortable in a iceroom during the night.

All Art Suites are individually hand carved in snow and ice by artists commissioned from around the world.  Each suite is unique and has never been created before. The artists have been picked from over two-hundred applicants with a wide range of disciplines, and invited to make the suite you’ll be sleeping in. Please note that the photos on this page show the room type not necessarily the actual room. The room holds a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base. The bed is covered with reindeer hides and you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag. Instead of doors the hotel rooms have curtains that you draw to give you and your company privacy.

3-course dinner will be served at the Icehotel restaurant.

Dining in ICEHOTEL restaurant is an escape from the sub-zero degrees, but still letting ice and surroundings take center stage. Sourcing their ingredients from the local area, delicacies like reindeer, moose, Arctic char and bramble berries are served. Icehotel is ranked the top restaurant in Kiruna and top three in Swedish Lapland in White Guide; Scandinavia’s most comprehensible Restaurant Guide. Its international kitchen brigade put a cosmopolitan twist to the local ingredients, sourced from the region’s rivers, mountains, marshes and forests. The beautiful Torne river ice adds an element to your dinner in the shape of table décor, dishes or bowls.

After the special and surreal night at the ice room you will be woken up with a cup of hot blueberry juice.

Take a short walk back to your warm Kaamos hotel room for morning refreshing procedures and continue to breakfast at the restaurant.

After breakfast you will meet your activity guide and you have an amazing chance to become a husky team musher once again!

On this hands-on dog sled tour you will get a reminder of how to run your own team of huskies and get an interesting insight into the musher’s adventurous life in the last wilderness of Europe.

After an introduction to equipment and safety the journey through the wintry landscape begins. Heading out across the snowy plains gives a big feeling of freedom. Halfway through the tour a traditional lunch is served at a cosy wilderness camp.

After a full day of outdoor adventure take some time to relax and warm up in your room or take a walk around the Icehotel area to soak in this one-of-a-kind creation.
