Cruising on the Mekong

Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort is located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The chic resort, which encompasses traditional Lanna architecture and warm Thai hospitality is situated on 4 idyllic hectares of lush, green land close to the airport.

Accommodation is comprised of 159 luxurious and spacious rooms/suites with lavish bathrooms and stunning views of the area which can be appreciated from the private balconies. Amenities include air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a mini bar, TV with cable channels, refrigerator, and a telephone.

On the left bank of the river, the Luang Say Lodge is backed by mountainous jungle. The large bungalows of solid teak and rosewood, all have beautiful views of the Mekong river and the mountains beyond. The traditional Laotian architecture provides comfortable accommodation. Each bedroom is equipped with high ceiling mosquito nets, electric fans and a large private bathroom with hot shower and western style lavatory.

The Luang Say Lodge sits peacefully above the Mekong River, blending artfully into the natural environment through careful landscaping, raised platforms and indigenous styling. It feature large bungalows, each elegantly furnished in dark toned wood and white fabrics, offering stunning panoramic views on three sides of the Mekong. A central riverbank restaurant is reached by wooden walkways from the bungalows, where guests can enjoy mainly organic food and order a choice of drinks from the well stocked bar.

Bungalows

Built in 1998, the Luang Say Lodge is situated on four hectares of land with a traditional Laotian architectural design of 20 large bungalows, each with large open air windows overlooking the Mekong River and mountains. Each room is fitted with comfortable beds, mosquito nets, electric mosquito coils, a ceiling fan and private bathrooms. The spacious bathroom has a hot shower and a western style lavatory. There are wooden walkways through the lovely gardens, linking all the rooms to the central restaurant and bar area.

Luang Say Lodge Restaurant

The Luang Say Lodge has a central riverbank restaurant, overlooking the Mekong River, easily reached by wooden walkways from the guest bungalows. Guests can either eat together or at separate tables. The buffet dinner of traditional Lao food and the continental breakfast are served in the restaurant area. Most of the vegetables are grown organically in the lodge’s gardens or the local villages, with no artificial fertilizers or insecticides.

Een bestemming op zich - Villa Maly was ooit het huis van Laotiaanse royalty's en is tegenwoordig een voortreffelijk boetiekhotel, omgeven door een weelderige tropische tuin. De kamers zijn elegant en comfortabel met een vleugje geschiedenis en creatieve accenten. De prachtige locatie is gelegen in het historische Unesco-beschermde gebied tussen andere statige huizen. De 'Art Deco'-stijl van ons boetiekhotel is overal aanwezig met een originele mix van Franse en Britse meubels uit de koloniale tijd. De sfeer is residentieel, alsof men in een privévilla verblijft. Het centrale gebouw van dit boetiekhotel in Luang Prabang was formeel de privéwoning van de voormalige adel van Luang Prabang. De oorspronkelijke pracht, ontleend aan de jaren 1920, roept een gevoel van het verleden op.

Each of the superior rooms at Villa Maly can lay claim to its own distinct appeal, featuring custom arrangements and distinguished artwork. The rooms do share similarities in hardwood floors, vibrant colors, slate-walled bathrooms, flat screen televisions and views of the gardens or pool. Some superior rooms boast a king sized bed; others offer a pair of beds. All promise a very individualized experience. Our Superior rooms have an average of 24 sqm living area.

With king beds, wonderfully subdued colors and ample natural light, the deluxe rooms rank as the Villa’s most exquisite accommodation. Some of the Deluxe rooms occupy space in the home at the heart of Villa Maly, now known as Plumeria but once the residence of Princess Khampieng and Prince Khamtan and their children. The furnishings in each of the rooms was specially designed for Villa Maly and crafted by artisans in Saigon. The desks, the bedsteads, wardrobes and tables each add to the singular ambiance of Villa Maly. Our Deluxe rooms average from 37 sqm upwards in size.

Le Vetiver is an alfresco perfect dining experience, situated on a wooden deck, appointed with a warm rosewood furnishing and sheltered by a canopy. Various delectable flavours and a local Laos traditional cuisine are served all day.

On a relaxing Luang Prabang evening, what could be better than a poolside barbecue and hotpot in the midst of Villa Maly? Guests can enjoy a tantalising selection of specially marinated meats and fresh seafood. The chef will fire up the grill and leave guests to cook their selections to their liking. Meanwhile, a steaming hotpot is left to simmer its delights. The wine list complements both the grill and the hotpot.

The Mekong is the artery of life in Laos: a trading route, a source of food and water, and a social center for the settlements along its banks. Known locally as The Mother of Waters, the Mekong river has been venerated and worshiped for thousands of years.

This stylish boutique hotel is one of the city's finest properties and sits just a short drive outside the centre of Vientiane. Built around a central swimming pool, it is a truly chic and tranquil retreat.

Its 34 stylish rooms all come with air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TV, a minibar, DVD player and radio, with a balcony/terrace overlooking the pool. There is also a restaurant and bar, with breakfast available to take away for those guests leaving early to go touring.
