Nairobi Tented Camp is an authentic tented camp, deep within a riverine forest inside the Nairobi National Park. It's the first and only accommodation within this unique wildlife safari destination, home to lions, leopard, rhinos and a diversity of the savannah wildlife but within sight of the city.
The unfenced southern boundary of Nairobi National Park means that it also provides a welcome dry-season refuge for migratory species. Zebra, wildebeest, numerous antelope species are present at various times of the year, which naturally attracts animals further up the food chain.
Nairobi Tented Camp offers guests the opportunity to really get to know this unique destination and its wildlife. International visitors can leave Jomo Kenyatta airport and within ten minutes start their wildlife encounter, with the last 20 minutes of their short half an hour journey filled with the excitement of their first game drive in Kenya. The drive to Wilson (domestic airport) is even quicker; only 15 minutes from camp.
The camp comprises eight guest tents with their own en suite loo, basin and safari shower, a dining tent and a lounge tent. The comfortably furnished tents have twin or double beds, wardrobe and desk, carpets and a furnished veranda to relax and admire the valley and forest views.
Food is fresh, hearty and home cooked and the camp runs like any other safari camp with morning and evening game drives on offer. The difference with this camp is that guests can simply stay on a B&B or half board basis, allowing time for excursions in the city or even just to stay in camp for one magical overnight without taking a game drive at all!

The Gamewatchers Safari Adventure Camp is located within the Selenkay Conservancy – a 15000 acre private wilderness in the heart of Maasai country near Amboseli. All the big cats have been seen in the Kenyan Conservancy as well as elephants and a wide range of species including large numbers of giraffes, zebra, and antelopes. There are also less common animals which may be seen such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, lesser kudu and African wildcat.
The Gamewatchers Adventure Camp offers the same high quality wildlife safari experience provided by the top-end safari camps, with game viewing in 4×4 safari vehicles escorted by top class Maasai guides and spotters in an exclusive wildlife conservancy far away from the tourist minibuses. However, this is at a hugely reduced price, achieved by staying in a more basic adventure camp, which is more like “real camping” instead of the luxury accommodation of the expensive up-market tented lodges.
The safari camp can be reached from Nairobi by daily scheduled light aircraft flights from Wilson Airport Nairobi to the Amboseli airstrip (Private charters to the nearby Selenkay airstrip) . While at camp all safari transport for game drives is in shared 4×4 open-sided safari vehicles with expert guides
