Baber Mahal Vilas is a quaint family-run boutique property set in the existing architectural haven of Baber Mahal Revisited. In an effort to portray the distinct architectural features of Nepal in an blend of architectural design, the property shows 4 distinct styles.
Located on a ridge half an hour outside Pokhara, the lodge is an ideal base for guests to relax in a rural mountain setting, away from the bustle of Nepal’s cities. With a central lodge, bar and dining room, the comfortable rooms are arranged in clusters of cottages resembling a Nepali village. All have attached bathrooms, private verandas and Himalayan views. Daily table d’hôte menus feature a range of Nepali dishes and continental specialties made from local fresh ingredients and home-grown herbs and garden salads. Guests enjoy bird walks and day hikes through the forests and villages, escorted by trained local guides. The secluded, award-winning swimming pool reflects the white peaks. The lodge guides welcome guests to join them to explore the rich area around the lodge - rolling farm land and forest rich in birds, butterflies and traditional lifestyles. Picnic meals are available and guides are happy to carry extra water flasks too.
Lalu, the Head Cook, is happy to invite guests to join the kitchen team to learn how to prepare classic Nepali foods. This is subject to the kitchen workload at any time.

Led by an expert local guide, explore the surrounding area from the lodge to gain an insight into the bio-diversity of the forest and farmland. With an emphasis on birds and butterflies as well as local flora, this provides an opportunity to see Nepal's only indigenous bird species, The Spiny Babbler (Turdoides nipalensis) among others.
Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge Dining Room
The lodge offers full range of Nepali and western foods from light snacks to full meals. The focus is on locally sourced fresh produce, organically grown a far as possible. The lodge gardens under Jit Bahadur provide the kitchen with a range of salads, fresh herbs, some vegetables and fruits.
All bakery, preserves, jams and marmalades are home made. A full breakfast is served daily with a choice of meat and vegetarian options, fresh toast, bakery and preserves, home made yoghurt or kefir and fresh fruit and vegetable juice selection changing daily.
Lunch is generally served on the lodge terrace or beside the pool and can be either a Nepali curry with a choice of vegetarian and meat dishes, rice and lentils, fresh flatbreads and chutneys. Alternately, a lighter lunch of soups, salads and similar is available.
Dinner is usually a continental four-course meal deftly served by the lodge stewards with an alternate Nepali Thali choice available.
The Lodge runs table d'hôte meals but guests are invited to choose between Nepal and continental options with maximum range of choice, subject to available fresh supplies.
The kitchen is happy to provide special menus for small children and those with special dietary needs.
