Built of thatch and timber, the lodge rises several levels, giving the impression of a vast open-plan tree house. Our rooms all have private balconies, most of which overlook a central waterhole, offering the opportunity to observe herds of buffalo, elephant and kudu, as the sun goes down, and hyenas later in the evening.

Dining options include the a la carte MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, the more casual Buffalo Bar and The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show. The Boma Café, set in a tranquil garden setting and located close to the Lokuthula Lodges, offers breakfast and light meals until 4.30pm.

A rustic, traditional camp of 8 canvas-walled units beneath cooling thatch, Camp Hwange overlooks one of the natural waterholes that make this part of Hwange National Park special.
Founded in 2010 by a well-known professional guide, Camp Hwange’s location is strategic. This private concession in the central part of Hwange lies between the rugged mopane woodlands to the north and the sandy soil teak forests to the south-west; it’s location here on this open savannah ecotone means that game viewing is as diverse as its habitat types.
Aside from fantastic game viewing, especially in the drier months from April through to November, Camp Hwange offers an excellent guided experience with a strong emphasis on walking and tracking.

The 118,000-hectare private Sapi Concession was awarded to Great Plains Conservation to manage and look after in 2016 and was immediately converted to operating as a private photographic reserve. This amazing wildlife sanctuary, along with the neighbouring Mana Pools National Park, comprise over 337,000 hectares of prime protected wilderness. Collectively they form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the core of the Middle-Zambezi Biosphere Reserve. Sapi Explorers Camp, perfectly located along the Zambezi River, offers a base to explore the Sapi Reserve, Mana Pools and the Zambezi River. With only 5 Explorers-style tents (one of which is a 2 bedroom family-unit) each with en-suite bucket shower and flush toilet, Sapi Explorers Camp offers the perfect combination of comfort, adventure and discovery.
