Welcome to Bakwena Lodge, an eco-luxury retreat on the banks of the Chobe River. We are located in the Chobe area and arrived at through the friendly village of Kazangula. Botswana is safari country and Bakwena is ideally positioned, 1.5kms form the meeting place of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana. Bakwena Lodge comprises 10 rondavel style chalets, 2 of which are family units, all situated under the shady canopy of Acacia trees, each site has been selected for its river view and is surrounded by indigenous riverine bush. Built around both ecological and traditional African principles, each chalet offers laid-back luxury with its own raised deck overlooking the river. Built-in daybeds offer ample opportunity to absorb the changing moods of the Chobe. Each chalet has an interior bathroom opening onto an outside garden with an outside shower – to shower under an African night sky surrounded by the sounds of the bush is a must-do experience that cleanses and energizes both body and soul.

An optional paid for extra or you can exchange 2 x lodge activities for this trip (3-night stays + only).

A full day activity to experience the magic of the Falls in neighbouring Zimbabwe. You will be transported from the lodge to the entrance of the National Park for a tour of the Falls at your own leisure. You will then be collected and transported to lunch, into town, to the local markets or for a spot of shopping, as you wish. Please note that although we will happily make suggestions this is an unguided activity and excludes Victoria Falls Park fees, Zimbabwe Visa fees (USD$ cash only for Visa fees) and lunch and the transfer may be shared with other guests).

There are boat cruises then there are Chobe cruises. Exquisite and beyond comparison, the Chobe river boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the planet. Dry season brings a game viewing bonanza well capitalised on by the resident Lion prides.

As the evening sky turns into a red glow you sit back, high above the river, enjoying a chilled drink while listening to the deep grunt of hippos – this experience awaits you on the sundowner deck of Namushasha River Lodge on the Kwando River in eastern Caprivi. Situated 24 km south of Kongola on the C 49 (former D 3501), it is the perfect stop-over en route to the Victoria Falls. Apart from 24 rooms in chalets the lodge consists of a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool. Watch elephant, hippo, buffalo or sable antelope on excursions by boat and off-road vehicle or take time to observe the colourful birdlife (more than 400 species)

Join a guided fishing trip and catch species such as catfish, tilapia, nambwe and tigerfish. Boat and basic tackle & bait are included, drinks on own account. A fishing licence can be obtained at the lodge but is not included in the rate. Lost lure or broken fishing equipment to be replaced at guest’s expense. All fishing is on a catch and release basis.

On the banks of the Okavango River in Western Caprivi, Nunda River Lodge is home to the native Hambukushu people. Embracing the scenic river views, the Lodge comprises rustic Meru Style Thatched Tents erected upon wooden decks amongst the exuberant trees. A further four thatched en-suite chalets, non-river facing, complete the accommodations with all the basic amenities. The main Lodge area entertains a Lapa furnished with a restaurant, bar, lounge area, curio shop, and extensive swimming pool. Sedia Riverside Hotel has been designed to be in harmony with nature, built between the natural vegetation associated with its riverine open woodland setting. The abundance of trees, plants and accompanying undergrowth sustain the many species of smaller mammals and reptiles but the property is particularly special to birders as there is an abundance of species that reside around the property.
It is only a short 5min drive away from Maun International Airport.

At the Sedia you can relax and unwind whilst enjoying swift personalized service at the same time. There is a meet and greet/lounge area at reception, restaurant, terrace bar with TV and outdoor dining area.

The large swimming pool is surrounded by a raised teak deck and shaded by an enormous jacaranda tree, where you can enjoy meals and refreshments.

There is a choice of accommodation featuring twenty-four rooms and ten cottages. All of the rooms/cottages have close-by parking spaces which allow for unpacking and repacking before your onward journey.
