Camp Kipwe | Twyfelfontein

'Kipwe', meaning blessed in Swahili, is built creatively into the large granite boulders of the Twyfelfontein area and is found in the Beautiful Damaraland, Namibia

Camp Kipwe is nestled in the boulders, facing out onto superb scenery. Incorporating boulders, small red basalt rocks and mopane branches, it has a natural organic feel. The eight rooms at Kipwe are round in shape, with large outside decks to admire the view. The outside, partially open bathrooms adjoining the bedrooms have boulder, cement and rock walls, and roofs of rough mopane branches. Hot water is supplied by wood-burning 'donkey' boilers.
The central area of Kipwe Camp is raised and comprises four thatched domes; the reception area and curio shop, dining room, lounge and bar all with amazing views toward the Aba Huab riverbed. An outside boma area is an additional venue for fire-cooked meals.

A small swimming pool built into the rocks and a viewpoint with 360 degrees of beauty, are two attractive outdoor features. Activities at the camp include nature drives with the possibility of seeing the desert-adapted elephants in the dry season, Twyfelfontein excursions to the rock engravings and guided walks in front of the camp with Kipwe's experienced guides.

Ongava Tented Camp | Ongava Private Game Reserve

Ongava Tented Camp is a small classic safari camp where guests sleep in traditional East African or 'Meru' tents. The camp is situated towards the centre of the game reserve, at the base of the foothills of the Ondundozonanandana Range. The camp's bar and dining area is built out of rock and thatch and has an intimate feel. Drinks and dinner can be enjoyed around the camp fire and swimming pool..

Each tent has double doors to allow for uninterrupted views of the bush and productive waterhole in front of the camp. Every tent has been tastefully furnished with its own en-suite thatched bathroom which includes flush toilet and unique open air private shower. Your private covered verandah offers spectacular views over the wilderness and is perfect for evening sundowners. The waterhole attracts a variety of animals and birds and is especially interesting in the evenings when flood lights illuminate the area.

Activities include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles into Etosha, as well as night drives and nature walks in their private reserve. With its resident White and Black Rhino, rhino tracking on foot is one of the most popular activities at Ongava. Guesta also have the chance to see elephant, lion, eopard, cheetah and the plains species. Keen birders may see various species from a Pygmy Falcon to some of Namibia's endemic species such as Hartlaub's Francolin, the Barecheeked Babbler or Ruppel's Parrot.
