The farm Namibgrens runs in the Rabie family since 1940. The old spacious farmhouse has been renovated and turned into a relaxed haven surrounded by a lovely garden. The summer temperatures is not very high, 10°C lower than that of the Namib desert and 5°C lower than Windhoek.
The large garden and abundance of water create an ideal environment for bird watchers with a variety of all types of species. Views from the 1850 meter high escarpment into the Namib desert are breath-taking. The farm can be explored by foot on well marked hiking trails from 2 hours to 3 days or by going on a 2-3 hour game / farm drive. A 4X4 self-driving trail takes the visitor on a challenging and picturesque adventure, with overnights (Granite Rock Camp) and camping grounds at the farmhouse and in the mountains. For the mountaineer, on offer are hiking trails up and around mountains 2700 meter high.

The unique Tsauchab River Camp guest farm with its exclusive chalets and private camping sites is situated on the banks of the Tsauchab River, surrounded by the imposing Naukluft and Tsaris Mountains.The Tsauchab River, with its giant wild fig trees and sparkling clear springs, is the main source of water when in flood to Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei. This natural phenomenon abruptly ends in a dry lake at the foot of the world’s highest dunes.
The chalets are located 800m away from the reception and restaurant area. The chalets are built on the bank of the Tsauchab River surrounded by nature. The accommodation comprises out of two spacious double bed chalets, three thatch roof chalets and one family chalet all with on-suite facilities. Although the chalets are not built for self-catering, barbeque facilities was built at each chalet with a wash-up. The chalets do not have electrical points, only 12 V lights in the chalets.

Desert Quiver Camp uniquely combines modern self-catering accommodation with comfort and style. Conveniently located a mere 5km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei, the inspiring scenery characterised by granite outcrops, spectacular views and roaming wildlife will captivate your senses.
The 24 uniquely designed self-catering accommodation units have spacious bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, shaded patio areas and private parking. Each twin-bedded bedroom features a fold-out sleeper couch to accommodate 2 small children (under 12) free of charge when sharing with 2 full paying adults. The patio is equipped with a barbeque facility, a fitted kitchenette with under counter fridge and 2 plate hob and a wooden bench for seating. Utility boxes with most utensils needed are available at reception and fresh food supplies can be ordered daily.
Leisure facilities within Desert Quiver Camp include a bar with a big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool overlooking the grasslands and Elim Dune, 2 communal bomas which are perfect to cater for groups travelling together, and a reception area that has WI-FI connectivity.
Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of exciting desert activities to explore the area.
A fully stocked shop, fuel and an Internet café is available at the Sossus Oasis Service Station.
