On our neighboring property one of our guides will escort you to meet all our carnivorous friends. All the animals at the facility have been placed in our care due to unavoidable circumstances. Most of them were caught by farmers as problem animals catching livestock. Once caught, the farmers have two choices, they either have the animal put down, or they can send them to a facility where they can be kept and cared for, for the rest of their natural lives. Some of the animals were captured as baby animals and then brought to us when the owners realized they cannot care for an animal that in essence will always remain a wild predator. Amongst the furry friends you will meet are caracals, cheetah, leopard and brown hyena.
The game drive is either early mornings or late afternoons when the chances of game sightings are best. Although our guides take all effort to see as many animals as possible, we cannot guarantee how many of the game species you will be privileged enough to see. Nature remains our most unpredictable joy!
Enjoy a couple of drinks as the sun goes down to experience the magnificent African sunsets. We will drive you to a sundowner vista to bring your fun filled day to a relaxing end.
Join us for an exciting off-road 4×4 experience. We’ll take you off-roading up one of the nearby mountains where you can enjoy the un-equivalent panorama views of the Namib Desert.

Maltahöhe Hotel | Maltahohe

Maltahöhe was established in 1899 by Henning von Burgsdorff, previously an officer in the German Schutztruppe, the military force of the Imperial German occupation. Burgsdorff named the place after his wife Malta, – “höhe” refers to hill. Maltahöhe is situated in the central to southern part of Namibia close to the Swartrand escarpment. The Maltahöhe Hotel was established in 1907 which makes it the oldest country hotel in Namibia still partly operating in the original buildings. In earlier years Maltahöhe use to be the midpoint of the karakul sheep farming industry, but this branch of agriculture has shrunken due to lasting drought cycles and embargoes against the karakul fur/pelt trade. Maltahöhe is surrounded by vast portions of farm land that stretch all the way down into the Namib Desert and all along the protected areas of the Naukluft Park. Sheep and goat farming remain the commercial hub of the south. Visitors to Maltahöhe Hotel are always amazed to see a large collection of images and relics from a bygone era. The hotel is especially renowned for its warm hospitality, excellent food and cozy bar adorned by hundreds of memorabilia from across the world. Maltahöhe is a gateway to places and attractions such as Sesriem, Sossusvlei, Naukluft Park, Duwisib Castle, Lüderitz and the Fish River Canyon.
