Agama Lodge | Naukluft Mountains

Located 45 minutes from the main entrance of the Namib-Naukluft Park, Agama Lodge offers guests rustic chalets with private bathrooms. The furnishings are modern and comfortable, and the spacious, air-conditioned units include a desk, a wardrobe or closet, and a private bathroom with a shower. For an additional charge, a Skybed on the roof terrace can be booked, an experience that is rounded off with a bottle of sparkling wine and a platter of canapés. The main camp offers a swimming pool, a cozy bar, a restaurant, and a large terrace from which you can enjoy the sunset and views of the Naukluft Mountains. The Namib Desert is the oldest desert on Earth. The flora and fauna in this fragile ecosystem have uniquely adapted to this environment of extreme heat and long periods of drought. With a little luck, you might encounter oryx antelope, springbok, wild ostriches, bat-eared foxes, aardwolves, hares, jackals, and spotted hyenas. All animals and plants in this region bear witness to adaptation and the struggle for survival in this essentially hostile environment.

Okaukuejo Camp | Etosha South

Okaukuejo is located 17 km from the southern entrance of the park, Anderson Gate. Okaukuejo is the oldest tourist camp in Etosha and it also functions as the administrative centre of the park. Okaukuejo is also home to the Etosha Ecological Institute. It is situated at the western end of the Etosha Pan. Facilities include a restaurant, bar, shop, swimming pool, kiosk and camp sites. The main attraction of this camp is that it overlooks a permanent waterhole which is floodlit at night. Here a wide diversity of wildlife congregate and interact from lion to rhino to elephant and antelope. The spectacle starts at dawn, with animals coming in large numbers to quench their thirst. The activity continues throughout the day until late at night. In the early evenings, it is not uncommon to have black rhino, elephant and lion all drinking at the same time.
