Villa Maua | Arusha

Just a stone’s throw from the ‘centre of Africa’ – being halfway between Cairo and Cape Town – Arusha’s Villa Maua (House of Flowers) could not be more ‘central’ than its prime location in the safari capital of Northern Tanzania. With just nine, spacious and tastefully decorated garden rooms, this elegant, Cape Dutch inspired, boutique property combines the benefits of being in the ‘centre of town’ with also being sited in one of the historic residential areas of the city.

Ideal for pre or post-safari stays or those visitors with historic or commercial interests in the city, the cosy warmth of Villa Maua creates an ambience of welcome home-style hospitality complete with a fully stocked licensed bar and restaurant. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with Wi-Fi and satellite televisions.

Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp | Ngorongoro Crater

Lemala Ngorongoro is intimately set in a delightful ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As it is located next to the quiet Lemala crater access road on the eastern side, a key advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro is the quick and easy drive down on to the crater floor in the morning; Lemala guests usually have an hour’s head start over others descending via the far busier Seneto crater access road on the western rim. And of course can stay later in the afternoon before returning to camp. As Africa’s game is most active in the early morning and late afternoon this means better wildlife experiences for Lemala guests.

Game drives from camp may start as early as 6.15am and guests can be down among Ngorongoro’s abundant wildlife on the floor within 10-15 minutes – crucial for photographers who demand the best light conditions. Escorted walks are also available into the forest and along the crater rim with an armed ranger and Maasai guide.

Lemala Ndutu Mobile Tented Camp | Ndutu

Lemala Ndutu Tented Camp is in the Ndutu region of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area near the border of the Southern Serengeti. This area is classic savannah, characterized by flat grassy plains, and our camp is in one of the finest locations in Ndutu to see the migration between December and March. Tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle usually arrive in December to graze on the newly-watered, highly-nutritious short grass plains, and then by February, the main calving season takes place. Predators - especially the big cats - are highly concentrated in the Ndutu area in these months. With 9 tents, Lemala Ndutu is perched on the edge of a permanent marsh, and acts as the ultimate amphitheatre to capture the boundless drama that accompanies the migration.

Elewana Lewa Safari Camp | Lewa Conservancy

Elewana Lewa Safari Camp has a stunning location within Lewa Wildlife Conservancy - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - with outstanding game viewing and views of Mt. Kenya to the south and the arid lowlands to the north. Each tent has a thatched roof, verandah and full ensuite bathroom, very much in the ‘Lewa’ style. The central areas have cool gardens with a sunny verandah and swimming pool to enjoy during the day, and cosy log fires in the lounge and dining room during the chilly evenings.

The camp is based within the private 62,000 acre wildlife conservancy. The conservancy is home to about 10% of Kenya's black rhino population, and the single largest population of Grevy's zebra in the world. Lewa reinvests all the profits generated from tourism into its core programs. When you visit Elewana Lewa Safari Camp, you contribute to helping thousands of people from different backgrounds and cultures to improve their lives, and give their children a future, at the same time as ensuring Africa's wildlife has a stable home.
