Karisia Tumaren Camp | Laikipia

Tumaren Camp is perfectly situated on the edge of a wide sweeping plain with panoramic views dotted with the iconic acacia tree. To the south, the landscape is defined by granitic inselbergs, rising up like islands on the savanna.

The grasslands are rich with wildlife, easily slip away the hours watching animals wander by or photograph the huge variety of birds coming to the bird bath in front of the sitting room.

The activities are endless, whatever your energy level, there's an option to suit you. Go on guided walks, camel rides, rock climbing, picnics, visit the local markets, beading, school and homes or relax on a game drive should you wish.
For those feeling very active, you have the option of jogging escorted (where else in the world) or pedal out on a mountain ride bike like no other. The 20 metre lap pool looks out across the open plains and has a funky bar for those wanting a cocktail as the sun goes down.

Karisia Nayasura Camp | Laikipia

Steeped in countless human histories, Nayasura is a place of granite outcrops whose name means "Place of the Eland."

Karisia Nayasura Camp is situated near these ancient granite formations, which have served as shelter for millennia.

Around the rocks and particularly in the caves, you can find evidence of ancient graves, flints, and pounding stones called 'boluses.' These rocks continue to be used by baboons, who seek refuge from prowling leopards and noisy hyenas. The ancient rocks are perfect for sitting and game viewing, and we also offer rock climbing on these formations.

Karisia Nyarara Camp | Laikipia

Set on the edge of a plain with long, panoramic views toward Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare Range to the south, Nyarara Camp is aptly named after the Maasai word for "cheetah," as these magnificent animals are often seen in the area.

From this camp, we embark on walks across vast plains and mixed bushland, seeking herds of Common and Grevy’s zebra, oryx, Grant’s gazelle, and the predominant Reticulated Giraffe on the open plains. In the mixed bush, we might encounter Dik Diks, Gerenuk, Impala, and, with a bit of luck, Lesser Kudu.

The views south are towards the Abedare mountain range and Mt Kenya

Karisia Ewaso Camp | Laikipia

Karisia Ewaso Camp is a wonderful shady campsite on the edge of Ewaso Nyiro River.

The river bank has Fig Trees and Acacia trees lining it and we use these for our campsite.

The Ewaso Nyiro River originates on Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain Ranges and is the same river that runs through Samburu National Park. It is a life line to wildlife in the dry season. The river is hugely popular with elephants who love to wallow in its muddy stretches as well as the Grevy's Zebras and other animals who quench their thirst in the river.

Tawny Eagles and a Martial Eagle are nesting in the tall trees and at night you will often hear Leopard and Lion calling. African night symphonies in the real.

Tangulia Mara | Masai Mara

Tangulia Mara Camp is situated on private land on the western boundary of the Mara Reserve, allowing easy access to game drive around the Musiara Marsh, the short grass plains, and Rhino Ridge, in the reserve or across the Mara River bridge into the Mara Triangle west of the river. Both areas have rich biodiversity and offer prime wildlife and big cat viewing; and, during the migration, ready access to some of the main river-crossing places.
