At Anchor's Rest we offer spacious, private guest suites in the heart of Umhlanga Rocks, just a short walk to restaurants, shops and the golden beaches of Umhlanga. It is also the perfect base from which travellers can visit our numerous game reserves, hike through the Drakensberg Mountains or have an African experience by coming face to face with Africa's Big 5.

Each guest suite has a private entrance and patio with barbeque facilities. The suites are air-conditioned with ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms, with shower and bath, TV with personal DSTV decoders, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, personal safe and hairdryer. Each suite has a private lounge that leads onto a secluded patio, lush tropical gardens or a sea facing pool deck. Three of the suites have a well-appointed kitchen, which allows for self-catering with ease.
Should you decide to go for the B&B option, you can choose between a hearty continental breakfast, or a full style English breakfast that is served with fresh fruit juices, steaming filter coffee and a selection of the finest teas
After a busy day sight seeing, or sun tanning on the beach, you can relax in tranquil surroundings, or unwind around the sparkling swimming pool and enjoy the balmy, tropical air.
In the evening, bar-b-que under the stars, dine al fresco in the gardens, or stroll into Umhlanga to enjoy a variety of cuisine at any number of good, quality restaurants.

Our tranquil setting are located near horse riding trails, mountain biking trails, hiking routes, golf courses, trout fishing waters and of course the famous Sani Pass.
We are situated 1,5 hours from Howick on the N3 Route and 1 hour from Kokstad, making Underberg the ideal location from which to explore the majestic mountains of the Southern Drakensberg.
