Tarangire National Park is transected by the Tarangire River which in the dry season becomes a life source for an abundance of animals, including thousands of elephant. The lush swamplands are home to one of the largest populations of breeding birds, and 550 species of bird have been recorded within the park's boundaries. The red earthed and white-grassed landscape of Tarangire is punctuated by magnificent baobab trees and termite mounds, and is home to a myriad of animals.

Enjoy the offerings of Tarangire National Park on a game drive with an expert Elewana guide. Elewana Tarangire Treetops is a short 45 minute drive from the entrance of the national park, however being located in a wildlife area adjacent to the park your game drive begins as soon as you are in the car.

Sit back, drink in hand, a top Sunset Hill and soak in the kaleidoscope of colours of a spectacular African sunset. You will be spoilt with a menu of cocktails on offer as well as delectable bitings.

The African bush comes alive at night, with a plethora of different creatures becoming active. Located in Randilen wildlife management area outside of the national park, Elewana Tarangire Treetop guests are afforded the special privilege of doing night game drives and having the chance to witness these nocturnal animals.

The slower pace and proximity to nature of a guided bush walk allows intimate enjoyment of your surrounding environs. With the expertise of your guide, view and learn about the animals, insects and flora at a pace that allows appreciation of the intricacies and nuances of each and their place in the web of life.

Wilderness Usawa Serengeti camps have a privileged position within designated walking areas of the Serengeti. This means walks can begin right from camp, under the supervision of experienced Wilderness guides.

Beyond the magnificent volume of game, the Serengeti is home to an impressive variety of birds.

While sitting around the campfire, appreciate the vastness and clarity of the Serengeti night sky.

Take to the skies in style and soar over the rich ecosystem of the Serengeti in a hot air balloon. Gaze over the 'endless plains' and their scenic splendour, marvelling at the unfolding drama of the ever-moving mega-herds. Champagne and snacks are served at the end of the flight.

A walk in the wild gives you the chance to experience Africa’s natural beauty from a different perspective and witness a whole new world of the sights, sounds and smells of the bush. Our walking safaris in the Serengeti are conducted by experienced guides and are the perfect complement to conventional game viewing by vehicle. Short walks range from one to four hours and long walks up to eight hours. A TANAPA ranger is stationed at camp. Please discuss and confirm with the manager on arrival. A unique opportunity to spend an informative evening with Namiri Plains’ resident cheetah researcher while donating to the incredible Serengeti Cheetah Project. The Serengeti Cheetah Project has operated for over 30 years and is part of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). This dedicated project monitors and studies fluctuations in birth and survival rates of cheetahs, which leads to predicting the future of cheetah numbers in other parts of their range, as well as providing valuable insight into the challenges facing cheetah, recognising solutions to reduce these conflicts, hopefully resulting in the conservation of this elegant species. For a different perspective of the wildlife, glide over the rolling plains of the Serengeti on a romantic and evocative balloon safari. Take to the skies in the early morning and watch the sun cast its first rays over the land before touching down mid-morning for a splendid breakfast and glass of sparkling wine – the perfect way to end one of the most unique and magical experiences on the continent.
