Like the original Ellerman House Villa One, the new Villa Two is the quintessential coastal retreat. It has an exquisite, ocean-view location in Bantry Bay, one of the most sought-after residential suburbs in Cape Town. Sheltered from the prevailing Southeaster wind in summer, it offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the dramatic mountain scenery characteristic of this stretch of the rugged and beautiful Cape Peninsula. Level one:
The first level of Villa Two comprises an inviting central corridor leading to a guest bathroom, study area, and private cinema. There are three luxuriously appointed bedrooms each with an extensive open-plan dressing room, bathroom and separate W/C. The rooms are named Sea Point, Clifton and Bantry Bay, according to their geographical orientation and outlook. Each bedroom extends outdoors onto a private terrace with wonderful views.
Level two:
The top floor (street level) includes a glass-walled entrance foyer that opens up into light-filled living, dining and entertainment areas decorated in soft, soothing sea tones with natural stone and unembellished wood finishes. Fold-away, floor-to-ceiling glass doors on two sides seamlessly integrate the indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, infinity pool, and spectacular ocean views. To the right of the entrance foyer is an open-plan kitchen designed for social, interactive cooking equipped with a large central island, sleek timber cupboards, a separate scullery and walk-in cold room. The kitchen may be closed off from the dining area by a sliding panel. A personal chef is on call to create breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. The emphasis is on fresh, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Any dietary needs or restrictions, food allergies or children’s meals may be discussed with the chef.

Wine is taken very seriously at Ellerman House, and the hotel’s 9000-strong collection of South African wines represent both established and emerging labels from the Western Cape’s world-renowned wine regions. Many of the wines in the collection are rare or special releases augmented by sought-after vintages bought on auction. Wines from the cellar are only made available on the hotel’s wine list once they have been optimally aged and are deemed ready for enjoyment at peak maturity. The Ellerman House art collection takes visitors to this fine hotel on a journey that explores the huge social and cultural shift that South African art has made from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. The art in this collection tells of the character of our land and the expression of our unique South African experience. From the time of the early pictorial historians of the midnineteenth century, such as Thomas Bowler, you acknowledge that this country has a flavour of its own – an essential nature that distinguishes it from other places. Communities in South Africa were extremely physically and culturally isolated from international centres of artistic innovation in the early 20th Century - a time before instantaneous globalisation of today. The Ellerman House collection traces the progress of pioneering work done in the 1930s by a generation of artists, such as Gregoire Boonzaaier, Maggie Laubser and Irma Stern, who were members of The New Group. Progressive identification by artists, such as Walter Battiss and Alexis Preller, with the essential nature of the land and its people - its Africanism, further reinforced the unique qualities of this land. The emergence of black pioneering artist like Gerard Sekoto and George Pemba began a process of cultural integration of the country’s ethnic communities into a unified South African art. In the Ellerman House Contemporary Gallery, an eclectic, outspoken and energetic generation of current artists such as Benon Lutaaya, Heidi Fourie & Blessing Ngobeni are pushing the boundaries of the ordinary in order to create work that explores relevant issues in post-modern South African society. The Collection records the spirit of the times and the development of art and culture in South Africa. Most of the almost 1000 artworks are exhibited as part of the unique artistic experience that guests can enjoy at the Ellerman House.

Situated on the ground-floor of Villa One, it is approached through a garden with tranquil water features and lush indigenous plants. With three single treatment rooms and one double room designed for couples, the spa specialises in cutting-edge massage techniques and anti-ageing beauty rituals drawing on the wisdom and restorative, healing techniques of different cultures from around the world. In addition, there is a sensation shower, sauna and steam room for hydrotherapy.
Specialised massage techniques on offer include traditional Japanese body work, Bellabaci, aromatherapy, lymph drainage, and deep-tissue massage.
Small, well-equipped fitness centre with it’s own sauna and change rooms is located beneath the main house for those who want to maintain a workout regime while travelling. Our Cape Dutch Manor House dates back to 1777. This exclusive house has five bedrooms accommodating ten guests. All rooms have a king-size bed, with two of the rooms having the option of twin beds. Rooms are serviced daily and breakfast is included in the room rate, as well as a well-stocked personalised bar fridge. The interior has been beautifully restored to its former glory, but with a definite contemporary touch. Bookshelves are filled with a wonderful selection of books and the traditional farm kitchen boasts a roaring old wood-burning stove. Guests have access to the garden at all times, with games set up on the private lawn. Curl up in front of the hearty fireplace and admire the architecture, or enjoy refreshments in the garden whilst savouring the exquisite views.

In addition to our daily garden tour, hotel guests can take part in a guided walk to discover our special collections in the garden. Depending on the time of year, gardeners may take guests to see the succulent collection, the cycads next to the stream or for a walk through the Healing Garden.
We have bicycles available for adults as well as children to explore the farm.
Our two signature treatments are the hammam water ritual and the bamboo massage. In addition, we have a wonderful selection of classic treatments.
Guests who stay two nights or longer, can join our guided drive. Come and immerse yourself in the late-afternoon tranquility of the farm and hear more about Babylonstoren’s history, our vineyards and orchards, and the fynbos and trees.
Join us on one of our daily guided cellar tours, which will take you through the whole winemaking process, past the vineyards, through the olive press, production cellar and maturation cellar, and includes a wine tasting. The tour starts at the Tasting Room (where our whole wine range is available for tasting).
Immerse yourself in an interactive farm experience set in the late 19th century. Just a short shuttle ride from Babylonstoren, lies Soetmelksvlei, where the spirit of craftmanship is honoured in every facet of farm life. A wonderful experience for young and old, from history buffs and heritage foodies, to crafters, artisans, animal and nature lovers.
Babylonstoren is one of only a handful of farms in South Africa that keep, breed and milk domestic water buffalo. Guests can get to know these peaceful giants up close and personal with a water buffalo tour. Join farmer Kobus Lambrechts for an early morning excursion to see how the water buffalo cows are milked. The tour ends in Babel Restaurant with a tasting of our farm-made water buffalo milk products.
Greet the day with a stretch and breathe experience guided by Babylonstoren’s yogis. The classes kick off at 08h00 and 16h30 daily across various venues on the farm, allowing you to align your senses and soak in the surroundings (often alongside a few inquisitive chickens).
Join master baker Peachy Jacobs and her team and learn to bake bread in our working farm bakery. Guests are invited to dust their hands and do some kneading and impressive shaping. Peachy will share her secret recipes as guests bake their own breads to enjoy later.
Allow the season’s scent to envelop your senses by joining the essential oils tour. Guests are taken behind the scenes in the Scented Room to see the steam-distilling process that captures the natural essence of our farm-grown botanicals, guided by Babylonstoren’s in-house compounder Gavin Hendriks and his team.
You can walk or cycle to the dam – the view from the dam is spectacular and you will be amazed by the abundant bird life.
Singita Lebombo Lodge | Kruger National Park
The Lebombo Lodge comprises 13 suites and one private-use villa that give guests a front row seat to the Kruger National Park with bold, contemporary open plan suites suspended above the N’Wanetsi River. The exclusive concession is a richly diverse habitat, teeming with game, beneath endless African skies. Set apart from the main lodge, the private villa features two 2-bedroom suites, each with a private pool. Built low down on the river bank beneath mature trees, the private villa is fully staffed, has an open-plan kitchen and its own boma. Daily game drives with professional guides and trackers provide the perfect opportunity to get up close to Africa’s incredible animals, while late afternoon drives reveal the elusive magic of nocturnal Africa. All our safaris at Singita Kruger National Park are conducted in Land Rovers with a maximum of six guests per vehicle. However, should you wish complete privacy, you may hire a private vehicle on this basis. Sole use of a Land Rover should be reserved well in advance and is subject to availability. The school now has a brand new, state-of-the-art demonstration studio at Singita Lebombo Lodge where guests can take part in a pre-arranged cooking class that is led by a professional, qualified chef. Guests may choose to cook a popular, traditional South African dish on offer or a trademark dish from chef Liam Tomlin's tapas menu.

Through Singita Premier Wine Direct guests may purchase wines from our cellars: either to be taken home at the end of their trip or conveniently delivered to their door. As an addition to cellar purchases, we have secured allocations of highly limited, sought-after wines, including ‘Icons’, ‘Single Vineyard’ and ‘Limited Release’ wines, directly from leading wineries in South Africa. Stored in temperature-controlled cellars, these wines are unlikely to be available anywhere else.

Situated in Atholl, one of the most beautiful parts of Johannesburg and only a short distance from the commercial centre of Sandton, AtholPlace Hotel is in a prime location, a mere 35 minutes from OR Tambo Airport.
AtholPlace Hotel offers four Deluxe Rooms (interleading), one King Room and four Superior Suites. All nine suites have been individually designed, providing a sanctuary of comfort and tranquility.
The rooms and suites, all with en-suite bathrooms, are extremely spacious, ranging from 45-55 square metres.
The King Room and Superior Suites on the first floor of the main building can accommodate 2 adults + 1 child under 16 each.
Situated next door to AtholPlace Hotel is AtholPlace Villa, a four-bedroom exclusive-use city villa. A 'home-from-home', accommodating up to eight guests, the first-floor houses three spacious deluxe bedrooms and one cosier bedroom, all with en-suite bathrooms. On ground level, guests enjoy elegant living and dining spaces that extend to the beautifully landscaped private garden, private temperature-controlled swimming pool and cheerful boma beyond.

AtholPlace Hotel features four Deluxe Rooms in the annex building. Two Deluxe Rooms on groundfloor lever and Two Deluxe Rooms on the first floor. The Deluxe Rooms are interleading and offer a view of the garden and pool. Maximum occupancy is 2 guests.
The King Room at AtholPlace Hotel is located on the first floor of the main building and offered partial garden view. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults + 1 child under 16 sharing.

AtholPlace Villa
AtholPlace Villa, the perfect city family retreat, has been created to provide guests with a temporary 'home away from home' in the upmarket suburb of Sandton. The large and comfortable villa can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms en-suite on the first floor. One bedroom is slightly smaller and therefor better suited to junior guests. All bedrooms have access to a large shared balcony offering a view of the private garden and pool.
Downstairs guests will find a large livingroom with separate television area, as well as a beautifully furnished dining room and a fully equipped kitchen and small study.
The comfortable but sophisticated home is surrounded by large private garden, inviting temperature regulated pool, a fire pit boma and shady trees perfect for those lazy, alfresco lunches. It is the idyllic space, with all the magic ingredients to spend quality time with your loved ones, enjoying precious moments together and choosing to explore the pulsating vibrations of the ‘City of Gold’ whenever you wish to.
AtholPlace Villa can be booked on exclusive-use basis only and is inclusive of breakfast (to be enjoyed in the comfort of the Villa). Return airport transfers, soft drinks and local house wines & spirits are included as well.
A full board option is available too. The private Chef will be on hand daily to tailor the meals around guests’ preferences. Mealtimes are flexible too. Relais & Chateaux ethics in sustainability observed, the Chef sources local fresh produce wherever possible. Function menus will be created specifically for each event or conference.
Optionally guests can also choose to book the ‘all-inclusive’ supplement that not just includes meals and snacks, but also a half-day guided tour of Johannesburg, using the AtholPlace in-house qualified guide and 9-seater vehicle.
Your AtholPlace Villa staff will discreetly ensure that you have everything you need to make your stay ‘heaven away from home’.
