Mboma Island Expeditions | Moremi Game Reserve
30 Jul 2022 - 2 Aug 2022
Mboma Island Camp is located in a remote area on the tip of the game rich Moremi Game Reserve. In a region mixed with permanent channels of the Okavango Delta, seasonal floodplains and Moremi’s savannah terrain, Mboma is able to offer both land and water based safaris. The camp is an opportunity for you to experience rustic luxury in a camp that promises to deliver a wild experience in the Okavango Delta.
Mboma has 5 Meru-style canvas tents equipped with twin beds and en suite, open-air bathrooms. Everything about this camp is eco-friendly, from the sole use of solar-power, to bucket showers, and chemical toilets. Tents are fully furnished using the finest linen and kitted out in the creature comforts from home. Decor is in perfect harmony with the surrounds - neutral tones are interrupted by bold pops of colour that reflect the colourful spirit of Botswana. The Meru tents are joined by a network of lantern-lined pathways, and the main areas include a boma, safari dining tent and a quaint drinks trolley, all quintessential elements of a classic safari.
Mboma boasts views of the endless floodplains fringed by real fan palms. Dotted across the plains you’ll notice scores of red lechwe and lumbering elephants. At night the powerful guttural roars from lions advertising their territory can often be heard echoing across the flat landscape.
There are good cat populations in the area, presenting a high chance of spotting lion and leopard on game drive. Elephants are well-spread through the Okavango, so there’s plenty of scope to witness herds of elephants in the wild and passing camp. The lodge offers mokoro excursions [traditional kayak] to boating trips and game drives. Some are subject to water levels which comes and goes through the season.
Conservation Safari Company hasn't visited the new camp but it has a great location, and we love the down-to-earth expedition style camp that is eco-friendly and has minimal impact.
Rates include all meals, game activities, teas & coffees, park fees & taxes and locally supplied soft and alcoholic beverages.

Camp Savuti | Savuti - Chobe National Park
2 Aug 2022 - 6 Aug 2022
Camp Savuti overlooks the dense Savuti marsh area and all 5 of the Meru-style tented rooms have elevated balconies taking advantage of these views. The large, spacious tents are located in such a way that they enjoy privacy and exclusivity. The area is diverse and guests will delight in the superb game viewing on offer. From photography to bird watching and predator sightings, Camp Savuti is the authentic safari gem of the Chobe region.
Conservation Safari Company recommends Camp Savuti as a good value, basic tented camp in the Savuti Marsh region. Although within in a national park, with no off-road driving, this doesn't take away from Savuti's famous history, incredible viewing around waterholes (in dry season) and generally interesting ecology.

Chobe Game Lodge | Chobe River Front
6 Aug 2022 - 9 Aug 2022
The only permanent game lodge situated within the famous Chobe National Park, Chobe Game Lodge is Botswana's premier venue for guests looking for a perfect base from which to explore the National Park and the Chobe River. The lodge has north African flavour with six comfortably furnished viewing decks, a riverside boma, two bars, six different lounges and four dining locations. The Lodge offers a choice of land or water-based activities and the most complete game experience in the Chobe National Park.
Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are conducted by professional guides in open-sided 4x4 vehicles to ensure maximum visibility of Chobe National Park’s scenery and wildlife, while, riverside game viewing is done from small and highly manoeuvrable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. [we don't recommend the large, booze cruise boats from the hotels in Kasane]
Chobe's diverse wildlife roams in abundance – it is home to the largest concentrations of elephant in Africa during the dry season. [June - November] These elephant herds, as well as vast herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope.
Conservation/Botswana Safari Company recommends Chobe Game Lodge as the premier lodge in the Chobe region, and the only lodge inside the national park. The dry season game viewing along the extensive floodplains is unique and spectacular. Having the boat station and boat viewing activities at your doorstep is a major advantage to appreciating the river environment. The lodge is large and more hotel like, the Moroccan styling isnt for everyone but it is best located to appreciate this park.
Rates are inclusive of accommodation, scheduled activities and laundry service, all meals, refreshments, local spirits and wines, emergency medical evacuation insurance, national park fees and all government levies and taxes, airport transfers to/from scheduled/charter flights

No Chobe safari is complete without experiencing the beauty of the Chobe River and its incredible wildlife by boat.
The riverboats are specifically designed to ensure each passenger can take in the magnificent Chobe views in complete comfort from anywhere on the boat. Owing to the flexibility in seating arrangements and the flat deck, the boats are ideal for keen wildlife photographers, with ample space for equipment and the freedom to photograph from any angle.
Unlike any other water-based activity in Botswana, the game viewing while on a river safari in Chobe is unsurpassed anywhere in Botswana. Elephants line the water’s edge, hippo congregate in lagoons, hundreds of antelope and giraffe make their way to the water and sightings of predators along the river banks are common.
All of the boats at Chobe Game Lodge are solar-electric powered boats – a clean and quiet way to enjoy a boat safari and another first for tourism in Africa.
Owing to the location of Chobe Game Lodge inside the Chobe National Park, early-morning game drives set off as soon as the park opens, giving you the best chance of tracking predators while they are still active. The afternoon drives depart the lodge in the late afternoon (the exact time is dependent on the season), only returning at park closure time after sunset, thus maximising the time you spend out in the park to enjoy those special sightings.
The drives follow the course of the Chobe River as your experienced guide interprets the bush signs and tracks in search of the resident wildlife. Elephant encounters are common and huge herds of buffalo abound. The ever-present impala and the majestic giraffe are both common residents, while sightings of the puku antelope are also on offer. Predators are plentiful in the northern region of the Chobe National Park, and excellent sightings of lion, wild dog and leopard are to be had.
The Chobe Game Lodge vehicles are open 4WD game viewers redesigned to make your trip comfortable and your viewing experience astonishing. Included in the fleet are several silent, CO2 emission-free electric vehicles designed to further enhance your Chobe safari.
Birding is spectacular with Schalows turaco, barred owlet and white-browed coucal resident in the gardens as well as rosythroated longclaw, western-banded snake-eagle and hooded vulture among a few of the 450 species of the Chobe region.
