Ensconced in the cocooned comforts of a lush 300-acre plantation paradise, the resort is perfumed with the subtly intoxicating aroma of coffee and spice. Come, allow the Spirit of the land to infuse your very being, and coax you gently on a personal voyage of discovery.
Situated in the heart of the rainforest, with rooms peeking out of the treetops and an infinity pool tipping over into foliage, Wayanad Wild brings you closer to nature. While we can provide you with information on Jeep safaris, the wilderness offers the most exciting experiences when explored on foot. You can identify interesting plants and small animals on guided tours with a naturalist and if bird watching is your thing, the canopy offers up rare migratory birds for spotting. A Wayanad Wild holiday is family-friendly. Your children can discover their love for the great outdoors through various hands-on activities. You can engage in light treks into the woods, hiking to neighbouring hillocks, cycling, and an engaging tour of the neighbouring tea factory. Zip lining and bamboo rafting in the river can be arranged outside the resort on request. The recreation centre with indoor games ensures that your children are well entertained even in the evening hours while views of star-filled skies await them at night.

Superior Room
The spacious rooms at Wayanad Wild are well-equipped with modern facilities and amenities. As a thoughtful bonus from nature, you have a jungle to peep out at from your window for inspiration and wonder. The balconies give you a stunning view of the tree lines further down the slope. Salvaged ship-wood and bamboo accessories lend a warm and earthy counterpoint to the light steel structures that are built without removing the trees on the sloped terrain; together defining the living experience here! Wayanad Wild is close to the edge of a forest reserve where the greens appear unbounded. No television screen can match this natural spectacle and as such you will not find a TV in your room. We would prefer that you got all your shows from nature; live, wild and for free, while here. The evenings are marked by birdsong before a campfire is lit and gentle gaiety fills the air.
Take a guided tour of our property with our naturalist to learn about local flora and fauna. Or be adventurous and trek out in the wilderness to experience the wild first hand. Do some bird-watching at the canopy or meander along with the streams. If you are a photography enthusiast, remember there’s a treasure trove of natural beauty here waiting to be captured.
For the adrenaline driven we recommend a rapid transit via zip-line through a tea plantation. You can wander back up leisurely from the landing point, walking slowly through tea bushes.
The beckoning green slopes of the Wayanad hills offer beautiful opportunities for cycling enthusiasts. Be energised by the fresh mountain air and captivating vistas as you cycle around verdant hill slopes and lush tea plantations.
For those who still remain hungry for more activities, forest treks and a glide through the crystal clear waters of Anoothupuzha on a bamboo raft await.

The kettuvallams - as the houseboats are locally known - are a testament to the ancient rice trade of this region and uphold a tradition pre-dating industrial engineering technique. Hand stitched by local craftsmen with coir and strengthened with fish oil, they are built using jack-wood; an indigenous variety of hardwood commonly used in local construction. From the viewing deck or your bedroom’s picture window you will see life on the backwaters, and the result is immediate: slow down, de-stress, rejuvenate. The waterways of Kuttanad disctrict weave through the area’s unique below-sea-level method of paddy cultivation.

Coconut lagoon is located upon the Vembanad lake, one of India’s largest inland lakes with its own distinctive ecology that supports a plethora of natural life. There’s only one way to get to Coconut Lagoon: over the water. From their private jetty about a kilometer upstream, the boat ride will take you over the lake’s gentle swells, past lazy coconut palms and houses, to the resort. If you are a bird lover then Coconut Lagoon will give you many days of happy bird spotting. The guest cottages at Coconut lagoon are individual works of art. They were built from the remnants of old mansions - tharavads, that were once the family homes of the nobility of the land. They were brought here in sections and painstakingly reassembled by skilled craftspeople so that you can experience first hand what it is to live in these ancient and celebrated houses of yore. In homage to the environment that supports and sustains us all, they have their very own sacred grove in the property. It is a piece of pristine ‘forest’ dedicated to nature, while keeping with a time honoured tradition.

Bird Watching
The Vembanad lake area abounds in many species of birds, quite a few of which are seen at our property over various seasons. Of these the Darter is the most visible as conservation efforts are slowly increasing their numbers.
Ayurveda
Take a pleasant stroll, cross a little wooden bridge and you'll find yourself at our Ayurveda Centre. Here, you can try massages and treatments for everything from beauty and toning to rejuvenation and stress, all based on India's ancient healing art of Ayurveda. Unsure of what you need? Our experienced physicians will be happy to give you a free consultation and point you in the right direction.
Canoe Ride
Cruise along the multiple canals of Kumarakom to experience the life on the backwaters or take a canoe ride to explore Coconut Lagoon's canals.
Ottanthullal
Coconut Lagoon plays host to some of the finest dancers, musicians and performers of traditional Keralan art forms. OttanThullal is a poetic performance art form from Kerala since 18th century.
Sunset Cruise
One of the best ways to enjoy the lake is to take our sunset cruise, an hour-long idyll with flute accompaniment. Water lovers might also enjoy taking an oar or punt-boat out on to the lake with one of the local fishermen, both for company and a steadying hand on the tiller. Within minutes, you're in a watery universe, so quiet, you can hear your own blood pumping around your head.
Butterfly Garden
The butterfly garden is an experiment we tried many years ago. We found a space with natural moisture, sunlight and a profusion of wild flowers. Butterflies seemed to love the space, and we noticed varieties migrating in from miles away. All that remained was to add some flowing water, a few well-chosen plants and within weeks we had a garden alive with flashing wings. Coconut Lagoon also has some 54 species of dragonflies and damselflies, all evidence of a thriving ecosystem.
Floating Tea Shop
The life around backwaters is so dependant on being able to float from one place to the other. Our floating tea shop represents one of the aspects of this way of living. This also is a chance to meet our own Tea Lady from the village near the resort.
Marari Beach is part of the CGH Group and provides an authentic experience of Kerala traditional and recreation. The small resort is set in the coconut grove at the sandy Marari Beach surrounded by flowering plants and herb gardens. Deluxe pool villas and cottages provide accommodation at the Marari Beach Resort. Most cottages have French windows opening up to a private garden. All materials used are naturally resourced and processed using simple methods as a means of practising ecological methods in the day to day running. There’s plenty to experience at the Marari Beach Resort. The locals often host festivals showcasing their traditions and culture. At the Ayurveda Centre, guests can experience an authentic Kerala massage from trained therapists. Also available are yoga classes from a master yoga teacher. Furthermore, visitors have the option of attending a cooking class at the Farm Kitchen.
