The Sand River boasts an impressive variety of fish species, with over 37 different types inhabiting its waters. Among the most commonly encountered species are the Sharp-tooth Catfish (Barbel), Mozambique Tilapia (Bream), Squeakers, Tigerfish, Smallmouth Yellowfish, and Mudfish.

Apart from the sheer relaxation of fishing, it offers a splendid way to immerse oneself in the natural surroundings. While casting your line, you can listen to the melodic chirping of various bird species or the distant calls of hippos, truly connecting with the bush in a peaceful and serene manner.
