From the camp, a scenic 4x4 journey through the National Park brings guests to Victoria Fall. The journey is a safari in its own right, offering opportunities to encounter wildlife move freely through the surrounding bush.

Cape buffaloes are known for their unpredictable nature and strong herd instincts, making them one of Africa’s "Big Five" game animals and play a key role in the local ecosystem and are a major attraction for eco-tourism and wildlife safaris in Zimbabwe.
Zebra Credit: EJ Zebras are highly social and live in groups known as herds. These groups offer protection and social bonding. Zebras can run at speeds of up to 65 km/h (40 mph), helping them escape predators in the wild. As herbivores, zebras primarily feed on grasses, but they may also eat leaves, bark, and shrubs when grass is scarce.
Wild Dogs Credit: LC African wild dogs are highly specialized hunters of terrestrial ungulates (hoofed animals), relying on stamina and teamwork to run down and exhaust their prey. They typically hunt during dawn and dusk, though they can be active throughout the day. Known for their strong pack structure, wild dogs exhibit remarkable cooperation—not just during hunts, but also in feeding. Like other canids, they regurgitate food for their young, but uniquely, they also feed adult pack members this way, reinforcing social bonds. Hierarchy at the Carcass: Interestingly, pups eat first at kills—unusual among carnivores and a sign of the species' pack-oriented care system.

The Hide Safari Camp | Hwange National Park

Located in a prime position in Hwange National Park, The Hide offers a life-enriching safari experience for its guests, from its fantastic game viewing right on your doorstep, to a variety of daily activities to suit everyone and the warm and welcoming staff, who make you feel like family from the minute you arrive.

Guests are accommodated in 10 beautifully-furnished deluxe tents, all boasting en-suite bathrooms and private verandas overlooking the busy waterhole.
