Introduction

Some three-hour game drive to the north of Musekese Camp lies Ntemwa-Busanga Camp. A rustic bush camp in a wilderness area on the southern edge of Busanga Plains.

Perfectly sited to make the most of the diverse Busanga Plains.
Explore its multitude of habitats, from riverine thickets in the south, the tree-lined edges and the flooded grasslands in the centre and the variety of wildlife that inhabit them.
The evolution of the award-winning Jeffery & McKeith Safaris mobile camp into a semi-permanent seasonal bush camp.

Accommodating just 6 guests. 2021 will see the design of guest accommodation change to a typically Zambian style comprising Chalets made from a blend of local materials and canvas.
The camp is compared to the early Zambian walking safari camps where the wildlife experience is key but where meals and simple extra touches add to the experience.

Run for you by the expert team at Jeffery & McKeith Safaris. Your stay is built around you and your choice of how you might want to spend your days, of course with the guidance and advice from your guides whose incredible knowledge and experience will help you get the most from your safari.

As well as gaining the respect of the safari industry and guests for their highly-regarded the guides at Jeffery & McKeith, have a deep wildlife knowledge that is passed on to guests in a professional yet relaxed and informal way.

The main area overlooks the Southern Busanga Plains. This area is known as the 'southern tree line', a mix of woodland and open plains, a good habitat for all kinds of wildlife sightings. Cheetah migrates seasonally to the southern plains as the grasses dry out and can be spotted more often when the Wildebeest begins giving birth.

Game drives are the activity of choice at Ntemwa, both morning and afternoon (and even into the night!), this is because in the northern Kafue the distances are large and to get the most out of the areas an outstanding diverse range of habitats one must travel to see them.

Predators are thriving, with a healthy population of lions spread across the Kafue. Typical to the woodland habitat leopards stalk the shadows. Cheetah is often seen.  Serval is seen hunting especially on the plains. Amongst many other smaller mammals previous safaris have found Wildcat Aardvark and Pangolin.

There are 14 Antelope species in the Kafue and seeing nearly all in a typical safari is not uncommon.  Roan, Sable, Red Lechwe herds numbering in thousands and shy  Oribi are just a few to look forward to seeing.

Wild dogs are here, and although they remain hard to spot, sightings increase as the dry season passes. Birds are a big part of any safari, and the Kafue has an impressive list that your guides will identify. Spectacular flocks of Open Billed Stork's swirl over the plains, which are home to some rare and endemic species including Wattled Cranes and delightful Rosy Throated Longclaws.
