A giant sytem of swamp, grassland and bush fed by the waters of the Kwando and Linyanti Rivers, the Linyanti is renowned for its massive herds of elephants during the dry season.
Bordering the Chobe National Park's western boundary with a huge sense of remoteness and space. Most of the area is covered with mopane woodland but there are strips of riparian forest and floodplains, along the Linyanti River.
Species that could be spotted besides elephant, are lechwe, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and the rare roan antelope. Cheetah are a highlight although hard to spot. Wild dog, lion, hyaena and leopard are all present. Birding is unique with Arnot's Chat, Collared Palm Thrush and brilliant flocks of Carmine Bee-eaters hitching rides on Kori Bustards!

Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of bird.
