Looking south from Quito, Mt Cotopaxi, the country’s most impressive snow capped volcano and the second highest active volcano in the world – the highest is in Bolivia - is a spectacular sight. Chilcabamba Ecolodge story is based on partners and owners who are Ecuadorian climbing pioneers that together have 85 years of experience, they have organized national climbing clubs that have explored the Andes as well as famous Ecuadorian expeditions to the Himalayas and the Alps. Located only 6kms from the northern border of Cotopaxi National Park at 11,400 feet, Chilcabamba is an ideal destination for family trips, highland hiking, bird watching, acclimatization outings, picturesque mountain biking and horseback riding with local guides from the nearby community of Pedregal.

Chilcabamba is also a perfect base to visit the world famous Cotopaxi National Park. The entrance is only five minutes away. Guests here may also want to arrange to climb Pasochoa, Rumiñahui, Sincholagua and Cotopaxi.
