What Makes Us Stand Out

Experience

The Robert's family has been in the safari industry for over 50 years, operating and guiding safaris across the continent and developing lodges across Kenya, as well as contributing hugely to wildlife conservation in Kenya. Ross and Caro with their wonderful team will make your safari experience unforgettable.

Willie Roberts, the founder of Mobile Expedition's and Caro's father was a true visionary and one of the forefathers and most instrumental ambassadors of wildlife conservation in Kenya. He set up the first wildlife conservancy on government land in Kenya in the Maasai Mara, essentially founding the 'conservancy movement', saving the greater area from being carved up for farming, laying down a clear path of success for community conservancies in Kenya and setting an example and an inspiration for others to follow.

Light Environmental Footprint

We have a really light environmental footprint as we use solar power all through the camp, no plastics are allowed, we recycle and reuse, leave no trace when the camp moves plus all our food is locally sourced from the community.

Conservation

At Mobile Expeditions, conservation is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to operate in harmony with the environments in which we set up our camps, and ensure a very light eco-footprint.
We are also committed to giving back to the areas we visit and to the greater Kenyan wilderness and wildlife.

Ruko is a community conservancy on the eastern shores of Lake Baringo. Ross and Caro were greatly involved in the setting up of the Ruko Community Wildlife Trust after clashes between the Pokot and Njemps brought their elders to the area looking for an urgent solution to ongoing tribal conflict.
Working in conjunction with the Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT), Ruko is a fair partnership between the Njemps and Pokot communities of Lake Baringo, whose aim is to restore and protect the region for the benefit of its wildlife and its communities. The reintroduction of the endangered once reffered to "Baringo giraffe" now known as Rothschild Giraffe has been a successful and rewarding project for the Baringo community.

Staying with us helps support the local Masai community in terms of jobs and conservation fees which are channeled to projects that are impactful to the community.
