Tena Tena

South Luangwa National Park marks the southern end of Africa's Great Rift Valley and is one of the continent's last truly unspoilt wilderness areas. Widely regarded as one of Africa's finest wildlife sanctuaries, the park spans over 9,050 square kilometres, where the meandering Luangwa River, oxbow lagoons, tributaries, riverine woodlands and open floodplains support extraordinary concentrations of wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, giraffe, hippo and more than 450 bird species.

Nestled beneath a magnificent grove of mature mahogany trees in the exclusive Nsefu Sector, Tena Tena occupies a spectacular double-tiered riverbank, with each spacious safari tent enjoying its own private view across a long stretch of the Luangwa River.

Tena Tena is synonymous with Robin Pope Safaris. As the very first camp established by Robin Pope, it has become an icon of South Luangwa, renowned for exceptional guiding, legendary walking safaris and warm Zambian hospitality. Decades later, it remains a favourite among safari enthusiasts seeking an authentic and intimate wilderness experience.
