Garonga Safari Camp is the original and main camp at Garonga, offering an intimate safari experience for a maximum of 12 guests in The Greater Makalali Private Nature Reserve. Six spacious luxury tented suites combine the atmosphere of a traditional tented safari with contemporary comfort, each featuring a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, minibar and private viewing deck overlooking the camp’s frequented waterhole.

The main lodge forms the heart of Safari Camp, with relaxed lounge, library and dining spaces opening onto expansive wooden decks. A swimming pool and sundeck overlook the surrounding bush, while the fire pit and boma provide atmospheric settings for evenings under the African sky. Fully solar powered, the camp offers an all-inclusive stay with meals, snacks and drinks, as well as two safari activities per day. Guests can explore the reserve on game drives or guided walks and enjoy signature Garonga experiences including the Sleep Out Deck and Star Bath, creating a safari that balances wildlife encounters with time to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
