Chobe Bakwena Lodge

Bakwena Lodge is an intimate, privately owned eco-lodge on the banks of the Chobe River offering an inclusive safari option in an area with some of the finest game viewing to be had. Bakwena has 13 Standard Chalets, 1 Family Room and 1 Honeymoon Suite all designed and decorated in a manner befitting our environment and offering a cool and comfortable escape. Ten 'Riverine Chalets' are nestled in the indigenous riverine landscape facing the magnificent Chobe River and Five 'Treetop Chalets' are elevated 3m above the ground and wrapped in the Treetop canopy. Guests will find out on arrival which room type they have been allocated. Chobe is well known for its predators and is home to an estimated 200 000 elephants. Activities, all based in-house, are naturally focused on land and water safaris. Other activities on offer include a guided Village Walk/Bicycle Tour and a sundowner cruise to the meeting place of four countries (the only one in the world!). Bakwena's excellent guides will endeavour to make your stay in Chobe a highlight of any safari. The lodges’ eco-credentials include a natural swimming pool filtered entirely by plants, employment policies, food choices, building methods and a host of otherwise unseen ways in which any negatives to the lodge surroundings or environment are addressed. Bakwena has become a keen supporter of their local school and village tours either on foot or by bicycle are encouraged.  Bakwena has at the heart of its ethos the fact that an African safari is so much more than its animals or dramatic landscapes, its people are, they believe, the very heart and soul of what makes Africa unique. Chobe and the Bakwena Lodge are host to a huge variety of bird species that can be enjoyed from your private deck, on foot or in the comfort of one of their game vehicles or boats. Bakwena has set out to be far more than the owners interpretation of what a safari camp should be, this is a place where already multiple guests have returned for a second or third visit to appreciate the lodges warm welcome and surrounds and  to enjoy the beauty that is Chobe.
