Exit from the Port Elizabeth Airport and follow the signs to Grahamstown/N2.

Continue along the N2 freeway for approximately 6 kms and then take the off-ramp numbered 751A marked Cape Town N2.

Follow the N2 and take the off-ramp numbered 748 marked Uitenhage R75.

At the top of the off-ramp you must turn right at the second set of traffic lights.

This will take you onto the R75 traveling towards Uitenhage / Graaff Reinet.

Follow signs toward Graaff-Reinet by-passing Uitenhage.

Continue along the R75 towards Graaff-Reinet for 258 km.

Approximately 23 km before Graaff-Reinet you will reach a staggered T-junction marked R63 Pearston/Somerset East.

This is a tar road (do not confuse with the gravel road also marked Pearston).

Turn right and drive for about 5.5 km when you will see the Samara sign on the left. (signposted Samara/Petersburg/Mount Camdeboo).

Turn left and follow the road (now gravel) through the lodge gates.

Follow the road through the reserve for 3km to the first electric gate (please call the lodge from here to let them know you are there).

It is then 12.5km to the second, double electric gate.

From there it is 2.2km to the MANOR HOUSE Reception turn-off and 5.4km to KAROO LODGE Reception turnoff.

This is about a 30 minute drive.

Drive north on the N2 almost all the way to Port Elizabeth.

About 40 kilometres after the Jeffrey’s Bay signs, take the R334 to Uitenhage.

In Uitenhage, follow the signs to the R75 to Graaff Reinet.

Stay on the R75 through Wolwefontein and Jansenville towards Graaff-Reinet.

From Heatherton Towers / Kwandwe Reception turn left onto the R344 unpaved dirt road and travel 2km west to the Kwandwe Gate.

Exit Kwandwe and, keeping left, travel 14km to the R350 tarmac road.

Turn right onto R350 and travel 72km over Carlisle Bridge to Bedford

On entering Bedford turn left onto R63 for 21km to T-junction on N10.

Turn left on N10 and travel south for 19km.

Turn right at Cookhouse onto the R63 and travel 24km to Somerset East .

Travel a further 52km on the R63 to Pearston.

Carry on through Pearston on the R63 for 51km.

Turn right onto Petersburg/Samara Road (unpaved dirt road).

Travel 3km to the first electric gate. Please phone 049 891 0880 and inform the lodge that you are on the property.

Travel 12.5km to the 2nd double electric gate and then 2.2km to the Manor House Reception turn-off or 5.4km to the Karoo Lodge Reception.
