Little Chem Chem, Auberge Safari

Positioned as if to frame the moment the first light bathes the grassland in its amber hue, Little Chem Chem earns its title of sunrise camp. Beyond its bounds, prime wildlife territory unfolds, where herds of buffalo and elephants wander the plains, giraffes traverse the treeline, and the stillness of the night is broken by big cat calls.

From outdoor showers and an elevated pool that gazes out to the shores of Lake Burunge to the spa and gym tents that open to the wild, every space at Little Chem Chem pulls the landscape into focus.

Accommodation
Five tented rooms and a family unit face out over the open plains, each positioned to catch the first light of dawn. The aesthetic is classic safari: natural linens, warm wicker, canvas walls, and the kind of details — antique and contemporary in equal measure — that make the space feel both timeless and entirely at home in the wild. Rooms come in king or twin configurations, each with a vanity area and a dressing room. En suite bathrooms have fully plumbed toilets and both indoor and outdoor showers.

The family unit comprises two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a shared lounge. It sleeps up to two adults and three children under 16, and a single bed is available for children up to 15. Children aged eight and older are welcome.

Experiences
At Little Chem Chem, the wild is always within reach, and the experiences are designed to make the most of it. Whether you're tracking big tuskers through the bush on a game drive with your private guide or settling into the photography hide as a lion drinks at the nearby watering hole, every moment is entirely your own, and you can stay as long as each sighting deserves.

Little Chem Chem offers day and night game drives, excursions to a nearby Maasai village, bush picnics, scenic sundowners, photography hides, and big tusker encounters,

You can also arrange the following in advance, at an additional cost: a full- or half-day trip to Tarangire National Park, known for its baobabs and elephant herds, a hot air balloon safari, and a helicopter excursion.
