Apex Shark Expeditions Shark Cage Diving - Cape Town

FIT Shark Tours Cape Town

We offer half-day personal, intimate marine tours all year round daily. Check out the trip video here.

Near Seal Island we have been enjoying sightings of the bronze whaler shark. These large predatory sharks are generally very interactive, coming close to the boat and are very inquisitive. There is no need for your guests to enter the cage as the boat-based viewing is excellent. As such your guests will have an excellent chance to see sharks on any trip they do with us as well as a whole host of other spectacular large marine megafauna. Whales, dolphins, and many species of sea birds are often encountered on this adventurous expedition.

As we adopt an eco-system style of operating our trips, going to sea with Apex is like going on a safari game drive and we will try to take in as much marine wildlife as possible on our trips.  As trips are based on natural events every trip is different and sightings are not guaranteed.

The trips these past years have been equally successful and guest feedback of dives with these other species has been outstanding. Read what our guests have to say on Google or TripAdvisor.

Kelp Forest Snorkeling (My Octopus Teacher Experience)

We operate exclusive shore-entry Kelp Forest snorkeling tours in Cape Town from False Bay.

The underwater Kelp Forests are truly beautiful and are home to a large variety of marine life including abalones, crabs, and many species of fish.  Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the Cape Kelp forests is the variety of shark species that call these forests home, including the charismatic pyjama catshark and the Shy spotted-gully shark.

Locations

Windmill Beach has two large channels and are surrounded by the magnificent kelp forest with all its beauty, virtually untouched and full of abundant marine-life. The second option are Miller’s Point which is more open to the ocean than Windmill Beach and is a magnificent kelp forest between many boulders and caves. Both are Marina Protected Sites.

Seal Snorkeling

We operate private tours in Cape Town from False Bay. Explore and interact with the Cape Fur Seal in one of False Bay’s most diverse snorkelling areas. The snorkel is located at an exposed haul-out spot for seals, known as the amphitheatre, which has amazing and beautiful marine-life and swim-throughs because of its deeper reef. This is the best place to interact with seals in the water. The snorkel can be 30-60 minutes and can take private groups of 1-4 people, which is a great group activity for anyone interested in our seals and the nearby coastal waters.

The exclusive boat ride to the dive site allows guests the opportunity to spot other wildlife including pods of Dusky dolphins, Southern Right Whales, Cormorants, Penguins, and possibly even African Oyster Catchers.

Location

The snorkel takes place at Partridge Point, a 15-minute boat ride from the Simon’s Town pier and is part of Table Mountains Protected Area. It is a greatly diverse area for both larger and small marine-life.

Prices from R 10,500.00 (Rack) R 8925.00 (STO) for 1 – 4 persons
