Neuras Wine & Wildlife Estate

In the local Koikoi language, Neuras means the 'place of abandoned water'. Neuras Estate owes its early existence as a farm to the presence of several crystal clear cold-water springs and dates back to 1894. The German troops in the early 1900's already have stopped here under the shady palm trees and the springs to give water to their horses and replenish their own water supplies. Hence still some water channels and water basins surrounded with reeds are visible.

Today, mainly wine is cultivated here and bottled from home. Also excellent brandy is produced. On the way from or to the Sossusvlei this is and ideal stop-over for a wine tasting or a meal.

Neuras also offers accommodation in simple 2-bed stone buildings and also in new luxury units with 2 bedrooms, lounge with coffee & tea maker, bathroom and verandah. Neuras is suitable for wine lovers, nature lovers, hikers, geologists, as well as film and photography enthusiasts. On the extensive farmland you can, with some luck spot leopards, and together with the farmer observe a cheetah feeding.
